@jmj I find this happening to me on a variety of social media platforms as a trans woman. I am often shown aggressively anti-trans content, presumably to increase my engagement. Interestingly, my parents see much more positive trans content, even among comments on the same tweets…0
@Photo51Genomics @ElleLettMDPhD @benryanwriter Yes, because it’s not ideology. Whatever this is that you’re pushing so vehemently is ideology. Alrighty. Back to the cave…
@Photo51Genomics @ElleLettMDPhD @benryanwriter I don’t think that any of us in the trans community are actively opposed to research. That’s certainly not the trope shared by trans activists I follow or know. In fact, there are quite a few trans people who are clearly devoting their careers to this kind of research.
@transscribe I think after the pink cloud lifts, we all revert to jeans/joggers and a t-shirt on most days. I’ll do eye makeup if I’m really trying to be fancy 🙄
@emilykmay Yes! And not just female-female friendships either. One of my best guy friends had to go because of uncontrollable attachment issues and jealousy, love-bombing, harassment when I left… it took threatening a restraining order to stop it. Even my divorce went more smoothly…
Me: How much does the military spend on Viagra each year?
Director of Defense Contracts: I don’t have that figured out.
Me: about $41.6 million.
Do you know how many bridges in my District of Pittsburgh could be repaired with that amount?
Remembering the first time I knowingly encountered the befuddling thing I would eventually know as MAGA.
It was 2008, on Facebook.
It was my old college buddy, Stove Minivan.

@Moon_of_GG@ErinInTheMorn@CamelSpyd3r As someone who lives in SE Michigan, I had no idea there’s an arts boarding school there, and your point makes this so much worse… I have half a mind to go for a drive…
Disgusting.
A hair salon in Michigan announced it will discriminate against trans/queer people seeking haircuts.
Studio 8 Hair Lab, by Christine Geiger, announced that she would refuse service to trans and queer people, and any haircut not deemed "normal" for their gender.

One year ago this picture went viral beyond my expectations. Well, today I’m no longer an MD/PhD student. Transitioning helped me to discover the joy that I could experience, and to realize Medicine is not my match. Instead, I’m headed back to college in the Fall to start fresh.
Ironically, it was the achievement of entering an MD/PhD program that gave me the confidence to explore myself with less fear. Computer and data science @UMDearbornCECS here I come! Thanks for cheering me on ❤️🏳️⚧️ #TransWomenAreWomen#TransInTech#MedTwitter
What a shameful ruling.
Not only did this case stem from something that didn't happen (the plaintiff fabricated a couple), but to allow businesses to so plainly discriminate against LGBTQ people is to undermine the very principles that our civil rights legislation is based upon.
I have been informed that a stabbing occurred today in Canada.
A young man entered into a gender studies class, asked about what was being taught, and proceeded to go on a stabbing spree.
It was a sickening action fueled by bigotry pushed by those pedaling anti-LGBTQ+ panic.
