@nemessmer @CarolusCarman @TheMrHumphreys @triodostrivium@biblingoapp It gets more people thinking in the language, interacting in the language, working with and correcting their use of the language. There is always the caveat that we don't want to ingrain mistakes. But if we guard for that and are aware of our shortcomings, I think it's a net good
@nemessmer @CarolusCarman @TheMrHumphreys @triodostrivium@biblingoapp In addition, I would think that, if teaching at an earlier stage could ramp others up more quickly, getting them to a higher level more quickly, then all for the good. More people will more quickly be able to achieve one level and progress to the next.
@CarolusCarman @AndrewCogburn1 But... I've benefited from having teachers who were better than I was, even if not anywhere near C2. I wouldn't want them to be discouraged by a thought like this.
@triodostrivium @nemessmer @CarolusCarman@biblingoapp @TheMrHumphreys Seems to me that whether or not a person should be called an “amazing speaker” of a language is probably relative to the abundance (or lack thereof) of good speakers of that language. Also depends on other details, but too much for a tweet.
@triodostrivium@biblingoapp @TheMrHumphreys Which is the more charitable interpretation, that the speaker in fact does understand first declension noun-adjective agreement but slipped up, or that he is a rank amateur? This seems like sniping to me. Slips happen, even for experts and native speakers.
@FoundnAntiquity This is a great tool, so thanks for it! One thing I noticed, though, is that it will remove the "coronis" from words formed by crasis (e.g., κἀγώ, τοὔνομα). Those marks are helpful for realizing what's going on, so maybe this tool should only act at the beginnings of words?
@latinitium Is there any good way to get support for Legentibus? I’ve got an active subscription, but the app keeps locking everything up and asking me to subscribe (at which point it won’t let me subscribe, because it then recognizes that I already am subscribed).
The CDC now recommends you diminish, and go into the West, and remain Galadriel. This supersedes previous guidance to become a QUEEN! NOT DARK BUT BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIBLE AS THE DAWN! TREACHEROUS AS THE SEAS! STRONGER THAN THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH! ALL SHALL LOVE YOU AND DESP
@pleasetellmeM @davigoli@BrendanEich Are you referring to the comments by Steve Kirsch, who is *not* a doctor on the panel but rather an entrepreneur (see link)? Or is there another similar claim in the video that I'm missing? https://t.co/SOJpC0naeK
@samwhoo@SlackHQ@SlackHQ FWIW, I think this is a widespread problem. It’s happening for me and everyone else I know who has Slack on iOS. It was a noticeable recent change, and it makes using the app painful.
