A dire dire day for the living planet. Probably on balance literally the worst day ever.
Future generations will curse those who made today possible. That is not any kind of nastiness; it is simply a statement of fact.

Thanks to the rabbis who came from all over NY to support me and stand in solidarity with their Palestinian brothers and sisters. Their words resonate with me every day since: only united, Jewish, Palestinians, people of conscience, will we win the battle against colonial genocide and apartheid, and help usher in a new era of justice and freedom in the Levant. https://t.co/axue2aGeWH
There are many ways in which Israel is destroying the Palestinians in Gaza. Creating unsustainable and inhumane conditions of life is the most complex and cruel.
Do not call it "war". It is a genocide. The motives are irrelevant. The intent (ie the determination) to destroy is evident and unequivocal. As unequivocal is the complicity of others states.
The Living Wonders case highlights how Aust enviro laws simply aren't up to the challenge of addressing our biggest threat - climate change
The science is clear: we cannot keep digging up and burning coal, gas and oil. It's time the law reflected this irrefutable reality
Hey @GruenHQ. There are other alternatives to nuclear: Renewables! Why not call out the misinformation in advert 2 on nuclear power? Your team was quick to call out Nurofen on medical information. In contrast, silence on the incorrect binary perspective on nuclear power?
As an environmental scientist and parent of two children, you know what other safety issue I'd also like @AustralianLabor to take seriously, @tanya_plibersek?
A safe and biodiverse planet.
Yesterdays "Living Wonder" decision by the Federal Court was profoundly disappointing, confirming - yet again - that our national environmental laws are completely ill-equipped for addressing our biggest environmental challenge - climate change

Yesterday @AustralianLabor & @LiberalAus voted against the Senate declaring that #whistleblowers are important and protections need to be enhanced as a matter of priority🤦♂️. Quite extraordinary! #fail
The @Greens & cross bench voted in support of the declaration. #auspol
What are you doing, @Tanya_Plibersek and @Steve_Dimo? This is an utter disgrace.
Endangered species are being killed and having their homes destroyed.
Please RT if you're likewise outraged and want governments to do more.
Today I was proud to join with all my Greens colleagues, the vast majority of the Cross Bench and millions of Australians to urge the Attorney General to obtain a full pardon for war crime whistleblower David McBride.
This is his last, best, chance for freedom.
International students contribute $40+ billion a year to the Australian economy. Education is the country’s third largest export after coal & iron ore. If we crimp that revenue source, what will replace it? And will that lost income be worth the promised impact on rents? #auspol
I'm SO f'ing sick of this. Public interest environmental lawyers & communities give our absolute all every time, we have done for decades. Our environmental laws are cooked, they're cooking us & the things we need to survive. Labor - fix it or move over & let us get on with it.
Labor acknowledges our whistleblower laws are inadequate yet are allowing David McBride to be jailed and Richard Boyle to be prosecuted.
Why is it only the crossbench who seems to care? The community has been so strong on this, their politicians should represent these views.
Sign the petition: PETITION https://t.co/2ZZfPHVhN2 We must use every possible pathway to demand decision-making that ensures a liveable world for future generations.
Today we see how broken federal environmental laws are
The Federal Court of Appeal found the environment minister doesn't have to consider emissions when approving coal and gas projects
This is why we need to legislate a duty of care on climate change.
