When crude oil was rising, Dangote and the marketers adjusted fuel prices almost in real time. Every increase was passed on to Nigerians without delay.

Now crude is falling, yet fuel prices remain stubbornly high and everyone suddenly wants patience.

Funny how the market works at lightning speed when prices are going up, but develops a limp when it’s time to bring them down. Nigerians are expected to absorb every increase instantly, but wait forever for any relief.
