If it's hard, good. It means no one else will do it. More for you.
The lonely chapter isn't a warning sign. It's the selection effect doing its job.
You have to be the one clapping for yourself long before the auditorium joins in.
@ClearTradeoffs@Codie_Sanchez It’s a nervous system issue. I’m going through the same thing. Finally realized no amount of money will make me feel the safety I crave.
@chibikachikwu@recap_david Scraping ecom images and altering via video is litterally copyright infringement unless the owner of the images authorize it lol.
@recap_david For anyone wondering, I did it and the videos are very low quality, personally I’d be embarrassed to have them on my site. PS - it’s illegal to take an image under copyright(which is every single image on the internet) and alter it unless you have permission from the owner.
Scrolling through X would make you believe that AI is already taking all our jobs and unemployment will soon hit 10% across every white-collar sector
In contrast, you walk outside and talk to someone in real life about AI. Not a single person intimately knows what is going on.
If you chat with someone above the age of 40 who is not in finance or tech, they will legitimately think that Claude is a random French guy who you know
If you ask them about B2B SaaS or LLMs, there is a high probability they will not even know what that those acronyms mean
You have to recognize that this platform is a bubble. It is highly concentrated amongst people who are overinformed on technology and are actively working on building these AI companies
Many are simply talking their own book. Others are trying to stray you in the wrong direction so they can take the other side. There are also just as many who speak of doomerism, simply because that is what receives attention on social media nowadays
Reality is different
> Humans are by far the most resilient creatures throughout history
> Society changes over time, but that change comes at an incredibly slow pace
> It is easier to build new technology than to change old habits and ingrained culture
This is not to underestimate AI by any means. I think it will be one of the most consequential pieces of technology in history
But if the doomerism is starting to get to your head, and you think the end of the world is near, I have news for you
The end of the world only happens once. You cannot live your life preparing for it
Those who do end up regretting it on their deathbed. No one has lived a very happy life being a pessimist.
Speed beats size.
The bigger the buisness, the slower it usually moves.
The businesses who survive are the ones who build speed into their systems, not bureaucracy.
You don’t want build a factory to make just one car.
After you’ve killed yourself to will a business into reality, your mind inevitably should turn to one question:
How can I leverage this pain for the pursuit of something even grander?
It’s something very familiar to anyone who’s ever run a marathon.
First you swear you’ll never run another one!
A few days later, the medal is tossed on your dresser and the melancholy sets in.
You realize it was the training you loved.
And the reason we are on this earth.
The joy of living is in the striving.
Not the winning.
We all seek to reach the ceiling of our own human potential.
And hope we never make it.

@MattWalshBlog Great, then everything will be extremely cheap. Food, housing etc. Human capital are what businesses need to survive. So no human jobs = no human money = failed businesses across the board.
