@Botanicalhealer@Botanical_ @wileyplantsci @BellMuseum@umncbs Yes, that's exactly right. The test described in the paper and other similar tests can accurately predict if a seedling or clone will be THC-type, CBD-type, or intermediate. Stay tuned for tests that will also be able to predict potency.
@Kansans4Hemp@Greenthumb_one Just what that likelihood actually is relates to whether fiber hemp grown in the US up through mid-1900s already harbored a low frequency of THC-type genes or not. Data from multiple individual plants are needed to get at the answer.
@Kansans4Hemp Thanks for posting these links! Interesting to see the mean THC:CBD ratio of ~10:1 for mean values the Eaton paper across all samples consistent with CBD-type. Would be interesting to know if there were THC-type or intermediate individual plants in the samples.
