Meet the man Adidas felt the need to apologize for partnering with.

Shalev Biton was stationed in Israel near the Gaza border in 2021 when anti-tank fire, likely launched by Hamas men, killed his friend and wounded him. His leg had to be amputated due to his injuries.

Since then, he's rebuilt his life and learned to walk and run again with the help of prosthetic legs. He's traveled the world and proposed to his girlfriend.

But he's also gone beyond recovery to advocacy. Along with his friend, Shalev brought Israel's first youth participant to the European Amputee Football Federation Junior Camp in Romania in 2025.

Adidas's historical legacy includes being founded by Nazi Party members and being among the last brands to drop Kanye West amid his antisemitism scandal. Their program offering the chance to buy one shoe, instead of the pair, was a long-overdue correction, especially given the company's past.

The Adidas apology says everything. They never deserved to work with someone like Shalev.

Il faut comprendre ce que cette phrase produit dans la vraie vie. Pas ce qu’elle veut dire dans votre tête, où tout est hyperpropre : ce qu’elle produit dehors.

Le mot, déjà. Le sionisme. C’est l’idée folle que les Juifs ont le droit d’avoir un État, comme tout le monde. Voilà. C’est tout. Je sais, c’est décevant. Si vous êtes pour deux États, vous êtes sioniste et vous ne le saviez pas. Félicitations, vous venez de vous auto-boycotter. Ne vous adressez plus la parole.

Ensuite, un constat que vous n’êtes pas obligés d’aimer : la quasi-totalité des Français juifs sont sionistes. Pas une tendance, pas une faction, pas « les méchants » : la quasi-totalité. Deal with it. Il y a 15 millions de Juifs sur terre, moins que l’Île-de-France, et près de la moitié vit là-bas. Ce qui produit, de façon assez prévisible, des cousins, des grands-parents, des mariages, des enterrements, des groupes WhatsApp qui existent sans votre permission. Et même sans famille : judaïsme vient de Judée. C’est le même mot. On prie vers Jérusalem depuis 2 000 ans. On la cite à chaque mariage, à chaque deuil, à chaque verre de vin le vendredi soir. À Cracovie, à Bagdad, à Fès, à Sarcelles. Je n’y suis pour rien, ce n'est pas moi qui décide des règles. C'est comme ça.

Donc, si votre critère moral est « je ne travaille pas, je ne m’affiche pas avec un sioniste », vous venez d’exclure, dans les faits, la quasi-totalité de vos compatriotes juifs.

Pas une frange. Pas les extrémistes. La quasi-totalité. Vous vouliez trier les bons et les mauvais Juifs ?Mauvaise nouvelle, avec un tamis de cette finesse, vous les avez tous. Enfin si, il vous restera peut-être 2-3 Juifs agréés par la préfecture, que vous sortirez à chaque dîner comme un permis de non-racisme. « Regardez, j’en ai un ! ».

Il faut bien comprendre : quand vous expliquez à un Juif que vous boycottez les sionistes mais pas les Juifs, vous lui annoncez que vous boycottez l’oxygène mais pas l’air. Bref, vous vous foutez de sa gueule.

Pour ceux qui en veulent encore aux Français juifs d'avoir posté un drapeau israélien le 8 octobre, donc le lendemain du plus grand massacre de Juifs depuis la Shoah : oui. Oui, ils l'ont fait. Incroyable. Vous imaginiez quoi ? Qu’ils allaient patienter, le temps que vous validiez le droit d’être bouleversés par la mort de leurs proches ?

« Attends, chez moi, sioniste, ça veut dire guerre, occupation, Bibi ». Parfait. Alors dites guerre. Dites occupation. Dites Bibi. Dites ces mots-là. Ils existent, ils sont précis, et personne ne vous empêche de les employer aussi durement que vous le voulez. Les Israéliens eux-mêmes ne s’en privent pas.

Parce que ceux qui ont écrit « mourez, bande de sionistes » à une agente d’influenceurs de 26 ans, ils voulaient dire quoi, précisément ? Vous le savez très bien. Arrêtez le cirque.

Alors, à ceux qui boycotteront quand même les « sionistes », y compris leurs voisins, leurs collègues, leurs camarades de classe, je dis simplement ceci : vous n’êtes pas antisémites. A film about 'cancel culture' has been cancelled.

"Cancelled" is an Australian 🇦🇺 documentary that tells the stories of over 600 Jewish artists being cancelled after Oct. 7, which led to their alienation and even doxing.

Let me introduce you to a brave hero from my country, Iran.

Now ask yourself: How many women in the West know her name? How many know what she risked for a freedom they have never had to fight for?
