We were proud to support Dr. Victor D'Addio, Dr. Peem Lorvidhaya, and the team at Mary Washington Hospital on their first #Barostim implant. Their patients now have access to a novel device therapy to improve symptoms of #heartfailure.
“The win-win of this procedure is that it’s low-risk, easy recovery, and produces results. Roughly 90% of our implanted patients reported seeing improvements in their heart failure symptoms. Heart failure medications have survival benefits but don’t give you much quality-of-life improvement. That’s where Barostim can fit in and fill an important gap.” -@RichaGuptaMD

Remarkable patient story highlighting our @MedStarWHC experience with @RichaGuptaMD and @CVRx_Barostim#Barostim Baroreflex Activation Therapy! Proud to have played a small part in Mr. Houston's story by first meeting him in our offices in Cambridge, MD!

Tune in to hear @Abraham_Jacob and Philip Adamson, MD discuss their perspectives on a newly published retrospective analysis, using the Premier Healthcare Database (PHD), which demonstrates a large and significant reduction in hospital visits and length of stay in #Barostim patients with #heartfailure and reduced ejection fraction.1,2

That's a wrap on day 1 of the #ASCENDHF Fellows Summit! It was jam packed with didactic presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions. Thanks to the ASCEND Course Directors (@shelleyhallmd, @JeffTeuteberg, MD, @AHajduczok, MD), Faculty (@RichaGuptaMD, Brian Howard, MD, @nyravalmd, @PeterEckmanMD, @echungMD) and Fellows for a productive and engaging day.
Heart failure, even when described as "stable" is a dangerous condition.
It should be treated with the same urgency as a cancer diagnosis.
Yet many clinicians continue to tell patients they are "stable" and don't bother to modify/optimize therapies. Not infrequently, patients are unaware they even have heart failure.
The disease marches on undeterred.
We can do better by implementing therapies now!

We’re proud to partner w/Swedish Hospital in Chicago, part of @NorthShoreWeb, on their 1st #Barostim implant – a #heartfailure therapy that rebalances the autonomic nervous system to improve QoL for patients beyond #GDMT alone.

We're pleased to announce that #Barostim has received MR-Conditional approval from FDA! Patients with Barostim, including most patients who have already been implanted with the device, can now receive MR scans of the head and lower body.
