With the blood still on the ground. I spent time talking with citizens, listening to their stories, giving hugs, and showing them that someone cares about what’s happening in their lives.

Brandon Gary, who has lived in the area since he was two, shared: “I had to call off work. I came outside and saw my brother lying dead.”

A working-class, family-oriented community now grieving and searching for answers. While city leaders continue to talk about building a safer Chicago, the citizens said they’re tired of promises and want to see real results.
