@LocalFalcon@GoogleMyBiz@googlemaps Hey, we will. But I can confirm they're matching up with what we're seeing in search. I think the issue is on Google's end, not ours or yours. In only shows up for specific keywords and also aligns to what we're seeing in the Organic results given (non-local)
Hey @GoogleMyBiz we're noticing some WILD fluctuations in maps (have since march). This is what @LocalFalcon is returning for one of our top terms.
The spots where my company is 20+ the top spots are all 40-50 MILES away from here, on the other end of the state. #stopcraponmaps
@GoogleMyBiz@LocalFalcon@googlemaps There is no user intent where someone looking for an attorney would want to see results that are located more than an hour away
@GoogleMyBiz@LocalFalcon What I'm saying is that @GoogleMyBiz and @googlemaps is broken. These aren't our competitors. Our competitors (Other attorney's that operate in this area) do not appear in the results either. This is not an issue with optimizing our pages.
@Optimisey@spbucher@GregGifford @clairecarlile @DarrenShaw_ Lucky I am exactly that Cynical.
The irony is that some of the features (specifically around call tracking/automated responses, etc) would be features we'd consider paying for. But you don't shoot my horse before trying to sell me on a new one and expect me to be ok with it.
You will be happy to know that according Eric Schmidt: the core ethos of Google, unlike FB or Apple, is admit to error, apologize & then fix it.
Dear @ericschmidt
Those of us working in Google Local have been waiting a very long time for that. https://t.co/9htSN3uJQU
@Optimisey@spbucher@GregGifford @clairecarlile @DarrenShaw_ Since the March update, both Organic and Map Pack have been basically useless for us. They're showing results that are out of state or more than 50 miles away (for attorneys). So this proposed charging is not good, but not unexpected with how bad it's gotten.
The daily fluctuation can be from Spot 1 to not appearing at all and then back again the next day. These aren't competitors (They are in similar or worse shape than we are). Do we know what's going on here? #StopCrapOnTheMap
These are not spam listings (we get plenty of those too). But since March, the local pack is returning results from Northern Jersey (1+ hour away) or from Philadelphia (Different state, 20-30 minutes away). The fluctuations are almost daily.
@GoogleMyBiz Hey Anne, I've used this form, and continue using this form. The problem is that whoever is generating these fake sites can do so a lot faster than I'm able to report them. On top of the other issues I'm seeing in map pack, it's making the feature almost unusable
Another day, another round of irrelevant listings in Local. Hey @GoogleMyBiz , reporting listings is like sticking your finger to stop a leaky Dam. Also doesn't explain why out of state listings seem to get a preference in map packs when there's not spam.
@TheSocialDude@GoogleMyBiz Yes I have, but when there are hundreds of listings in your area, and you notice that none of the ones you're reporting are getting taken down and are infact fleshing out profiles more (fake reviews). I don't think this is something that can depend on user submissions.
Hey @GoogleMyBiz search is full of these places right now. hundreds of "auto accident attorneys" with addresses at abandoned lots. Your recent updates are pushing these places to top spots over actual businesses. Yes , I've tried reporting. No luck. #StopCrapOnTheMap
