asking children to speak in 'standard' or 'academic' language often gets framed as a social justice effort helping children to acquire and master dominant forms. yet this vision of justice focuses on changing individual behaviours as opposed to systemic, transformational change.

Almost every piece of technology tht has advanced us as a society has come from a Black person. Blood banks, cell phones, stop lights, dryers, pacemakers etc etc etc
