@BrennCookk@EricLDaugh Yes, we tried that. The U.S. will just cut off, or suspend trade with that particular country. No one in the world wants the “Canadian” treatment from the U.S.
@chrisca35900784@StateDept@NEWSMAX Australians don’t get a say In The prosecution of American citizens. Neither does anyone else. We have our own courts.
@auxillaryinput@cbcwatcher Truth be told. Michiganders don’t really travel to Windsor. We do travel to Toronto. Detroit to Toronto, the best/fastest crossing is at the Blue Water Bridge. From Detroit to Windsor, you take the tunnel (no trucks). The Ambassador Bridge is usually backed up with trucks.
@cbcwatcher The state of Michigan has 5 international crossings into Canada that nobody cares about at all…. Nobody cares if it’s backed up, nobody notices, or cares. The trucker convoy was going for a week before it made the local news.
@stribe39@Reil76 So you actually believe a Democrat will reverse course on Canada after the republicans leave office? I highly doubt it. Canada is pretty far down the list of democratic priorities. Americans really don’t care about Canadian problems. Even the Democrats.
@Victori49569624@ryangerritsen The state of Michigan owns 50% of the GHB. The state paid $0.00 for its 50% interest.
Any profit, not revenue, will be split 50/50.
Michigan will receive 50% of all profits from a bridge they didn’t pay for.
Best part, the U.S. can close this bridge at any time.
@Richard94623365@ryangerritsen None of the money will leave Michigan. However, on the Canadian side, the tolls might be going to the Ukraine. Not sure.
No profit will be made without paying the U.S. 50%.
@NorthernGirl67@Tablesalt13 It’s simple, if Canada wants to take one dollar of profit from the bridge, the U.S. 50%.
The Michigan Development fund insures the U.S. profits will go to regional development. Canada can send its profits to the Ukraine if they want.
