What you’re seeing in this video is just 1 seasonal river, one out of 100s across Somaliland. Now imagine the potential if we actually captured and redirected this water into reservoirs, dams, and wells.

We can’t keep complaining about drought and water shortages every year while millions of cubic meters of rainwater are wasted, flowing straight into the sea.

It’s long overdue for the government to implement a serious, nationwide strategy to manage rainfall and develop underground water resources.

This level of neglect is simply unacceptable.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland has appointed Dr. Mohamed Omar Haji Mahmoud (@AmbMohamedHagi) as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Somaliland to the State of Israel.

This historic appointment marks a significant milestone in Somaliland’s diplomatic engagement and reflects its commitment to advancing formal relations, mutual cooperation, and constructive dialogue with the Government of Israel.

The Ambassador is vested with full diplomatic authority and mandate, exercised in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland and established principles of international diplomatic law.

I recently traveled from Dubai to Hargeisa using a Somaliland passport, and the airline did not ask me for a Somalian eVisa (e-Isbaaro).

I also traveled to and from Addis Ababa with my Somaliland passport, and again, no one asked me about an e-Isbaaro.

Why are people not getting their lander passport and using that to book their flight home? That’s while the government figures out how to deal with the airline cartel known as @IATA

Introducing the Isaaq Challenge

Isaaq is a cultural grouping of clans.
It is irrelevant in politics.

The British Protectorate was not formed by an Isaaq clan elder, but by several independent clans, each with its own leader.

To say Somaliland is "just Isaaq" is to belittle the hard work that went into forming the state from many clans.

It's also a dirty game to exclude other clans who co-built Somaliland
