We have been targeting core word vocabulary and learning all sorts of signs, such as close, feel, off, and finish. We practiced "closing" the cabinet door, turning the sink "off", signing that music therapy is "finished" and expressing the different emotions we feel!
Mrs. Sylvia's class had a great time at Special Olympics Basketball at Starrs Mill High School along with Ms. Carly and Mrs. Leah's class. They had a great time socializing, following directions and showing off their basketball skills!
Ms. Lucy’s Pre-K is walking in a winter wonderland! We have been learning all about the season of winter, making snow crafts, conducting ice science experiments, and making our own sensory snow to play in. Stay warm, friends!
This year at JSS, we started our very first Drum Club! This group had their debut concert featuring fun Christmas hits. Here are some moments from the concert and fun practice time. We love watching our students shine and do their best!
Ms. Leah’s Upper Collaborative Class loves being out in the community. In class, we drew names of friends to shop for, then went out to buy their gifts. We ended the day with “brunch” at IHOP. It’s always one of our favorite outings of the year!
Ms. Joy’s Primary class recently had the opportunity to attend a symphony performance and enjoyed a visit to the park. They appreciate spending time in the community and outdoors to provide meaningful activities for learning and movement.
Ms. Hannah’s class loves participating in vocational skills that help them become more independent and confident. Each task helps them build independence and develop valuable life skills they can use every day.
The Speech Team had so much fun getting into the Halloween Spirit with Trick-or-Treating at JSS! As well as helping ATLAS decorate some Spooky Donuts! Thank you so much to @heirloomdonuts for the sweet treats and support!

Ms. Lucy’s Pre-K loves interactive and hands-on learning! Fun learning opportunities like story time, fine motor skill building, cooking skills, crafting, and Fun & Fitness games are always bringing smiles to our faces!
