Amid growing concerns over employment opportunities for Kannadigas at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, operator BIAL has issued a statement, asserting that Kannadigas constitute the majority of its workforce.
The airport operator said it is engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address concerns over local employment. Highlighting its contribution to Karnataka's economy since 2008, BIAL also assured that future expansion would create more job opportunities for Kannadigas across sectors.

Why can't Chennai IT companies don't have talents from other states ?
Why Tamils are majority in chennai IT why it's not diversified as compared to Bengaluru ?
1. Hari Marar – MD & CEO - Malayali
2. Girish Nair – COO - Malayali
3. Nalini George – CHRO - Malayali
4. George Fanthome – Chief Digital & Information Officer - Malayali
5. Kenneth Guldbjerg – Chief Commercial Officer - Foreigner
6. Pravat Paikray – VP, Commercial Development - Odia
Why An airport operating in Karnataka has so low Kannadiga representation at the top management?!
Change this immediately
@realmadrid_ssb I applied for a role which dint mandate Kannada. - same role in Kochi airport had Malayalam has mandate to read and write #BengaluruAirport
Over 90% of staff in @BLRAirport being mallu isn’t an unfair nepotistic hiring practice? 90% of those jobs should go to locals of Karnataka not mallus!
If you were a native of Karnataka you’d be raising your voice to this but since you ain’t you’re trying to diverge.
Coming to Bengaluru, taking salary, buying flats & paying taxes is not “developing” the city. That’s just participating in an ecosystem that already existed.
Had a flight cancelation 3 years ago. Spoke to the manager at the check in desk in kannada, his reply was please speak in hindi or English so that we can address your concerns. Full thikka urdhoythu, all airports in india ive been to have employees who speak local lang except here
Reports of zero Kannadigas in several Bengaluru IT companies expose how managerial and HR favouritism is systematically destroying opportunities for local talent. Let’s all stand behind KaRaVe and support the movement until we achieve our goal! #JobsForKannadigas
Our next guest on the @mundhebanni podcast is Dr. N. Manjula, IAS, Secretary to the Dept of Electronics, IT, BT and Science & Technology, Govt of Karnataka.
This is the first time we have had a senior government official on the show, and it turned out to be a very interesting conversation.
Founders often find it difficult to navigate the many schemes, grants and support programmes available for entrepreneurs. We tried to get a high level picture of what various departments do and how entrepreneurs can benefit from them.
We also discussed:
• Funding provisions, schemes and grants available for early stage startups.
• How the government is building an entrepreneurial support ecosystem in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
• Opportunities to engage non resident Kannadigas and bring them back to contribute to their home districts and alma maters.
• The government's approach towards encouraging women entrepreneurship.
• The larger disruption AI is bringing to the IT services industry and the efforts underway to help Karnataka navigate this transition.
Overall, this is a valuable conversation for anyone interested in understanding the role the government plays in enabling entrepreneurship and building Karnataka's startup ecosystem.
We are particularly happy to have had Dr. Manjula join us for this episode. She had an exceptionally busy schedule on the day of recording and could join us only a little later than planned. But she made time for us, recognising the importance of this conversation.
For us, this is also a small but significant milestone for Mundhe Banni.
After 15 months of consistently building this platform, creating conversations around entrepreneurship and engaging with founders across Karnataka, having a senior government official come on the show and openly share what the government is doing and planning for the entrepreneurial ecosystem feels special. 🙌
The trailer releases on Monday, and the full episode follows on Wednesday.

@SajithGowda - I am extremely impressed with the way you articulated the points. Well done. We need more of your types to represent us well in national media.
