WHAT WE'VE LOST
If we were still on the old (pre-55) calendar, we would have just ended yesterday a series of four successive octaves lasting more than a month.
First is the Octave of the Ascension, in which we contemplate for eight days the great mystery of Christ's departure to heaven and his promise to send the Holy Spirit.
Then a few days after that Octave ends we begin the great Octave of Pentecost, which remembers the sending of the Holy Spirit and His indwelling in us.
Just four days after the end of the Pentecost Octave is the start of the Octave of Corpus Christi, celebrating the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
And the day following that Octave is the beginning of the Octave of the Sacred Heart, focused on God's great love for us.
For some reason the liturgical reformers (of both the 1950's and 1960's) in their wisdom believed that a more "simplified" calendar would help us to focus more on Christ and His work. So they dropped all these octaves.
Yet to me, the overabundance of octaves over the past month focuses the mind and the soul on God's great love for us and His work in saving us. I don't see how replacing these octaves (mostly with "ordinary time") accomplishes the stated goal; in fact, I would argue it does the opposite.
One of the things that Normies don't seem to understand is that in 20 yrs most of the Boomers, and their $, will be gone. As the vocation crisis drags on, more and more churches will empty. The influence of the now-marginal trads will become substantial, as it already is in France.
Our Lord plays the long game. Tradition is the future.
Thanks to Vatican II, the Catholic annulment process has become Catholic divorce due to the abandonment of inconvenient Church doctrines such as the purpose of marriage.

All of the evils that are afflicting the West are part of a Divine chastisement permitted by God in order to punish us for our many sins – primarily that of apostasy and for murdering our own children.
Peace will not reign in our nations until Christ reigns in our hearts.
They want you to believe this happened in the LA Mayors race…
3rd place jumps to 1st in *every* ballot drop *after* Election Day
Defies all mathematical probability, the law of averages and has never happened in US election history
No one with a functional brain believes this
@TaylorRMarshall And it shows across the board. Utah was the runaway #1 state in my Family Prosperity Index which measured 60 different variables.
To your points about the difference with Catholics, you make the case for why we need Catholic Shires to mimic Mormon successes.
@IMPERATORAUS Yes, the ultimate goal of Catholic Shires is to once again raise new Majestic Gothic Cathedrals for the glorification of God. Read more here: https://t.co/IfkIeN3K1r
@TaylorRMarshall Yes, one of the goals of Catholic Shires would be to reinvigorate Catholic festivals throughout Christendom. Read more here: https://t.co/FIKuv0iJ9X
It’s two minutes to midnight. The time for talking is over; the time for action is now. That’s why we are presenting the first-ever patriotic European Citizens’ Initiative: the @SaveEuropeAct.
Acknowledging the ethnocultural continuity of Europe’s peoples as crucial for the preservation of Europe, we demand an immediate and total halt to immigration and the creation of a comprehensive European Remigration system.
To achieve that, we need your help. With a million signatures, the European Commission must meet with us face-to-face and take a stance on remigration and the future of Europe as a whole.

700 Christian knights against 40,000 Ottomans. The Christians won.
The year was 1565, and the Ottoman Empire had its sights set on conquering the Christian West. Only one thing stood in their way: the small island of Malta and the Knights of St. John.
Led by the 70-year-old Grand Master Jean de Valette, these devout warrior-monks refused to bow to Suleiman the Magnificent. When the enemy finally breached the walls of Birgu, de Valette didn't retreat. He grabbed his sword and ran straight into the gap, fighting hand-to-hand to rally his men and defend the very soul of Christendom.
Despite disease, exhaustion, and furious, unending assaults, the defenders held the line. Prayers echoed unceasingly from every church on the island, and heaven itself seemed to intervene.
Then, on September 7th, a relief force from Sicily arrived. Reinvigorated by the fresh Christian soldiers, the Catholic forces launched a final, desperate clash that struck terror into the invaders.
The Ottomans were routed, leaving behind their cannons, their dead, and their dreams of conquest.
Against impossible odds, the siege was broken.
The victory echoed across Europe as a miracle and a sign of divine favor, earning Malta the legendary title of the "Shield of Europe."
It stands today as a breathtaking testament to the power of unyielding faith and the courage of those who fought in the name of Christ.
