Prof Ross Andrews, Sr Epi @qldhealth, presents COVID-flu-RSV trends extracted just hours ago. Near real-time reporting of state-level health data is an invaluable resource achieved from the COVID response. Timely information is powerful & needed across more health indicators.
Attending the @qldhealth data linkage symposium for the first time since before the pandemic! Data to Drive Change team from the @CREStillbirth is attending and thrilled for today’s presentations #data#datalinkage#epi
After a few years working on COVID at @qldhealth, I’m thrilled at the privilege to return to @CREStillbirth to continue developing #stillbirth projects with the most amazing team at @MaterResearch.

A msg from #WCEpi2021 co-chair @lindaslacksmith, "This is a unique opportunity to hear from & engage with colleagues interested in epi internationally. I doubt we can truly engage in epidemiology/public health w/o understanding the global context; COVID-19 has demonstrated that."
🗣️Dr Jeannette Young: "Queensland, COVID-19 is coming."

TIP: when reviewing a prediction model study, start by searching for these words:
- sample size
- calibration
- missing data
- TRIPOD
Failure to mention these is heavily linked with a poor quality study.
Most studies fail to mention at least one of these, & many ignore all.
