🥳Even if I don’t, #DCStatehood is a right that every Washingtonian deserves! Or at least not Taxes without real representation!
But I think @realDonaldTrump should really consider making DC the 51st State…He believes in minimal Government intervention? Gives us the right to be a State!
Election officials are saying that if fewer ballots come in late, they can run RCV tabulation rounds earlier. So, if you want results sooner and are using a mail ballot, vote sooner!
Hearing from neighbors about a huge series of Emergency No Parking signs for 7 days/week that went up overnight across multiple blocks of 13th St & Monroe St NW in northern Columbia Heights. I received no information from @DDOTDC about this. Looking into it & will share more.
Mood District at 13 and Otis is open and it’s awesome! Such a cozy vibe, great for coffee snacks and working. Told me they are adding more food in coming weeks. Check it out! #ColumbiaHeightsDC
Info from DDOT. This still seems insane that a huge area is marked no parking 7am-7pm 7 days per week for an entire month. I’m getting more information
It’s amazing that DC ranks #1 for city parks and congrats to @DCDPR, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it in #ColumbiaHeightsDC - our Civic Plaza & 14/Girard St Park are neglected, in need of cleaning/refurbishment, & haven’t gotten meaningful investment for 20+ years (1/2)
Big news: DC has been named the #1 park system for the 6th year in the row!
Six years at the top isn’t an accident—it’s the result of deliberate, sustained investment in the parks, playgrounds, and recreation centers that make DC the best city in the world.
Let’s go! New spot on 14th St coming soon to a long vacant property & block that will benefit a lot. Can’t wait to stop by with @Anc1D07#ColumbiaHeightsDC
Even recent repairs to the Civic Plaza splash pad were minimal, didn’t fully fix issues w/ water spouts, & still slippery for kids. No mulch or plants in the beds, & rodent issues are rampant. Even occasional pressure wash would be nice. @DCDPR can we pls get some attention here?
This is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been advocating for #ColumbiaHeightsDC! Given our density, major retail hub, top 10 @wmata station, & 15+ vacancies along our corridor we need dedicated lease incentive + grant programs to attract businesses & revitalize the area! @DMPEDDC
Applications are now open for Mayor Bowser's Chinatown Lease Incentive Grant and Rhode Island Avenue Support Grant. These grants are designed to support small businesses and strengthen two commercial corridors. To learn more about these business funding opportunities, join us tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19, at 2 pm, for a virtual information session.

I’d like to point out that #1-4 in @washingtonpost top 10 best new restaurants are ALL in Ward 1! This is where some of DC’s best food is. https://t.co/m9SuPQEqvO

This is alarming. It underscores the importance of hyper local neighborhood groups whether formal/informal. Join that WhatsApp group, host a block party, go the neighborhood festival, and start groups that bring ppl together.
