@TheRealAurelius@ronlieber I enrolled about five years ago, but have been in various payment plans before that. I figured I had about six more years of PSLF before I was finally done, and scarcely dared to hope it’d actually happen. So this is huge for me. Huge.
@barryrothschild BIG Congrats to you. This is exactly my story too. Driving into work this morning (I’m a teacher) I was thinking of the payments kicking back up in May. Driving home, I was realizing how those huge payments are not coming back. Life-changing.
@JB_HISD_Theatre @ronlieber Hi, thank you! I’ve been making payments under the PSLF program for about five years. I’ve been a teacher for twenty years, though, so they went back into my entire history when assessing my status under the waiver. It’s been such a burden. I am still in shock.
@ronlieber Thanks so much. I’m not on Twitter much these days but when this happened, I figured I’d look and see if others got this notification today. It’s such a thrill to see so many people in this boat. This has been my albatross for so many years. I still can’t believe it.
@actnowforward@ronlieber Same here. I was in the exact same boat and got the notice today that the rest of my loan was forgiven. I still had sixty payments or so, but they counted previous payments and said I’d “satisfied my obligation.” It feels like a dream. Congratulations to you.
