When trees are in the way of development there is usually only one solution
But in Singapore they save mature trees and transplant them to a different location
Data released today by @CopernicusECMWF shows:
🌡️ It is now virtually certain that 2024 will be the warmest year on record. It is also virtually certain that the annual temperature for 2024 will be more than 1.5°C above the pre-industrial level.

Nearly $7 trillion USD is invested annually in activities harming nature, while investments in Nature-based Solutions total only around $200 billion.
It’s time to flip these numbers.

Industrial fishing in the Bay of Biscay kills nearly 10,000 dolphins a year. Let that sink in. It’s ecocide on a devastating scale. Now the French government has been forced by a handful of brave, tenacious environment groups to impose a temporary ban. https://t.co/f3aa4lwqmm
.@Shell is doing a Greg and suing us for over $1 million dollars for peacefully calling on them to pay for the climate damage they're causing around the world.
Watch out @savechildrenuk you could be next…

Despite evidence of a pollination deficit (not enough insects) reducing agri production (e.g. Garret et al '23), our Govt has just given another derogation to release nerve agents (neonicotinoids) into Britain. Madness.@DaveGoulson@WildlifeTrusts https://t.co/D3xb4hEzI5
Hello @RichardAyoade . You are funny . But this isn’t . You’ve been conned - this cynical & dangerous propaganda is harmful beyond your worst nightmare @DefraGovUK@TheAHDB & goes against all scientific advice . You might want to pull the plug on it https://t.co/edQx6VEGwX
BREAKING:
Government has given emergency approval to use a bee-killing pesticide! #Madness
Below is a US bee 🐝
The pollen on her legs is from dandelions & her tongue is sticking out because she’s been killed by weed killer on the flowers
No #bees, no #insects, no #life
Britain is one of the most food secure nations on earth. If we want to be even more food secure, we should 1) reduce appalling levels of food waste and 2) use prime arable land to grow food for people rather than for bioenergy and livestock. The greatest threat to our food security is the trashing of our natural environment on which all farming depends utterly.
** An alarm call for us all **
The official nature watchdog, @OfficeforEP, says that "government is largely off track" to meet legally-binding nature targets.
That's true for 8/10 targets, including the overarching goal of halting nature's decline by 2030.
Anyone else think @Feargal_Sharkey should be awarded a knighthood for his relentless campaigning to expose the water pollution scandal?
Like & share if you agree
(A sainthood may be more appropriate… you need the patience of one to put up with this 💩)

Agreeing to new oil and gas fields won’t help the UK. It will only create more declining and stranded assets that will cost our future economy when we can be investing and creating jobs and growth in clean energy.
And as I’ve consistently said, leadership requires us to lead:
