Most of my friends in Paris/London have a distorted view of the US, and sometimes a weird superiority complex.
They think only the top 1% lives well and everyone else is trapped in social collapse (guns, healthcare horror stories, obesity, politics, LA homelessness, NYC dysfunction).
Then they visit random suburbs in Texas, Florida or the Midwest and see middle-class families clearing $300k+/year with huge houses, multiple cars, space, AC, full restaurants, youth sports complexes and mass retail abundance.
The uncomfortable reality is that a lot of “ordinary” Americans live materially better than European elites.
Idk if it's media manipulation, denial of reality or straight ignorance, but we’re getting underclassed and most people only realize it when they land there.
@Luigi__457@Os91413Jon@PelicansNBA eh everyone i would want in the 1st rd is already gone at 23. whoever we would get at 23 i would probably be comfortable grabbing at 33
@Badandy538_ i hope jordi as a spanish national convinces the front office to pick him. appreciate claxton but lets send him to a team where he can contend.
I’m sorry y’all, but as a real, true, authentic New Yorker…
I just can’t get with this Mamdani grift.
One year you’re naming Tom Thibodeau when asked to name a current Knick.
The next year you’re giving a Knicks championship speech like you’ve been living and breathing Knicks basketball your entire life.
And to be fair, it was a good speech.
He’s a talented speaker.
He’s a great orator.
But that’s exactly why I’m skeptical.
Because the most effective politicians know how to make themselves feel familiar.
They learn what people care about. They learn the language. They learn the culture.
And then they wrap themselves in it.
Maybe I’m wrong.
Maybe Zohran Mamdani has been the biggest Knicks fan in New York this entire time.
But as a real, true, authentic New Yorker, something about this doesn’t feel organic to me.
It feels manufactured. It feels calculated. It feels like branding.
Watch the clips and judge for yourself.
@Netswamp give me this 7ft4 demon you know he got the gasol brothers on speed dial anytime he needs to work on his post game. fit the nets philosophy of touch, feel, passing. danny and aday mins together would be fun.
@BillyReinhardt can the guy run full court? critical mins in the tourney you need to score hes walking the ball up the court. no attempt to speed up the game and get quick buckets
