It is pretty crazy/ridiculous that Schmigadoon won 0 awards on the telecast and is about to win Best Musical. Maybe if they still did at least one of the book/score categories on the main show it would make sense to the locals!
Ultimately Jellicle Ball should win Best Revival not just because it rules but because we need to reward big swings/thoughtful interpretations. None of this is worth anything if all of our revivals have the viewpoint of “we should do Ragtime.”
HAPPY ENDINGS (2011–2013) deserved a much longer run. Between the rapid-fire jokes, chaotic friend-group dynamic, and pitch-perfect cast chemistry, it felt like a sitcom that had barely scratched the surface when it ended.
