My MC has no family & tends to bounce from job to job, not making connections. He misses everyday things people tend to take for granted--friends/coworkers, 'common knowledge' things/events everyone knows, favorite restaurants.
Oh, and hot showers.😁

Elie Rutherford, in 2006, most misses how people comported themselves back in 1906. Modern clothing, slang/swearing, and forwardness is very jarring for her.

I almost never remember my dreams. When I do, they are usually weird and/or riddled with anxiety. I get deja vu and I find that writing down my dreams is the best way to ensure they don’t happen (so if I WANT it to happen, I wouldn’t want to write it down).
