Sycamore Hills GC
1989 Jack Nicklaus
Ft Wayne, IN

Located in northeast region of the Hoosier state, Sycamore Hills sits on a piece of land that is filled with rolling hills, lakes, and streams. A fabulous parkland setting for the golf course.

The routing is exceptional. Holes play in all directions of the golf course. They play through a residential community but do not feel tight or constricted. The lengths of each par vary and you don’t feel you’re playing the same hole twice at any point.

The fairways at Sycamore are pretty generous in width. You are offered some challenges to use driver to get your ball at a proper angle to the green, but those areas tend to pinch or be guarded by a devious bunker or waste area. You must be precise. The greens vary in size and shape and have great contouring throughout. As expected the bunkers are pearly white sand and offer a visually aesthetic appeal.

The conditions at SH are pristine. @JTgolfsuptSHGC and his staff have the golf course dialed in. The fairways are a lush green but they do run firm and fast throughout. The green complex surfaces are excellent. Just the right amount of firmness to them and easily roll at 12 or above on the stimp.

As expected, the clubhouse and professional staff are on top of their games at all times. This is a five star service facility in every way. The food/menu is spectacular, the locker and grill rooms are great, and the guest cottages are spa/resort quality. If you have an opportunity to go to Sycamore Hills, do not pass up the chance. Kudos to all at SH, I’ll be back for sure.
