the best credible neutral blockchain can be built only via an organisation which needs constant funding and a starting fund of 1Billion$.

What is this ? Politics / regulators / a lot of thinkers / philosophers in one place ?

When you get funding of such amount, that is definitely not credibly neutral, as every funding has some kind of purpose.

we saw that in the last 7 years, everyone was pushing EF not to implement a thing, just let others build L2s which are "ethereum aligned". What a joke. The result is billions lost, constant hacks, no composability, insane fragmentation, people are still not using crypto.

anyway, good joke.

the way to save Ethereum is for Ethereum to become a shard on MultiversX.

2026 is the year of the big reset.

The regulatory map has been redrawn across most of the world, and the financial and crypto environment with it. AI has already rewired how we conceive, build, and ship products, in ways most people are still catching up to. My conviction is that Supernova resets what blockchains mean, and what they can do, for institutions, for businesses, and most of all for the AI agents that are about to become the largest, most demanding users of digital infrastructure the world has ever seen.

Now, the time has come for Sergiu to move on, but he will always remain part of the xPortal / MultiversX swat team. Over almost four years, alongside the xPortal team, he made the product sexier, more useful, and more connected, bringing together ecosystems in a way that has elevated the experience, flow and defining moments for millions of users, on MultiversX and 15 other chains and communities.

One thing in particular I’ll look fondly on is the repeated drive to Cluj close to midnight, with the two of us sitting and talking long into the night about the next moves, the important and crazy ones, that would make xPortal more useful and more loved by its users. A heartfelt thank you to Sergiu, for building, pushing, and refusing to settle for the easy version of life. Go get the June 14th Ironman! Cheering loud from this side.

Shifting to what's next. xPortal enters a new phase.

We've been quietly preparing for this for some time. The team is well in place and in great hands, with a new internal lead stepping up in the role, taking the hard, focused steps the next phase demands. The first milestone of this new phase will be revealed in tandem with the SUPERNOVA GENESIS EVENT.

I've defended MultiversX's tech for years

It is best in class, no question

But after watching the market pump centralized chains while billions vanish to hacks

I'm starting to wonder if true decentralization even matters anymore

Supernova has continued delays and best guess is now mid Q3, maybe Q4

Over a year behind schedule

Many are panicking or criticizing the delays but why?

The alternative is rushing broken code to market

And we've seen that movie play out dozens of times

Security has to be #1. Always.

A single critical bug can kill a protocol overnight

User funds gone
Trust destroyed
Game over

So yes, the delays are frustrating

But I'd rather wait than watch another hack wipe out everything that’s been built

Here's what keeps me up at night though

MultiversX can scale to millions of TPS across 3300+ nodes running on minimal hardware

Truly unmatched in the space when coupled with sub second finality

But will anyone care when it finally ships?

Web3 is drifting toward "acceptable centralization”

Single sequencers are rationalized
A hundred nodes controlled by a handful of entities is called decentralized

Centralized bridges settling on decentralized chains? No one blinks

If that's where we're headed, what's the market for a truly decentralized, infinitely scalable chain?

I used to think this was a certainty but now I'm not so sure

What I do know is that we are still incredibly early

There are no winners yet. Not even close.

Hardening security across every live module.

We are in the early weaponization phase of frontier AI. The team is reanalyzing the security assumptions behind every module we run in production. Surface by surface, layer by layer.

As we have discovered in the past, MultiversX, myself, and perhaps several other team members have been targets of a highly-sophistication attack campaign, by Lazarus and other groups among them. Every attempt has been detected, contained, defended. What is unmistakable to me, is that the raw intelligence now available to attackers has materially elevated the sophistication, speed, and creativity of these groups.

The vital work done by the team has surfaced a class of issues that did not exist as viable threat vectors twelve months ago. Each one identified, patched, and folded back into a continuous hardening pipeline.

Security is and continues to be the highest priority over the coming weeks. And the shift here is structural: raw AI offensive capability is being normalized into the baseline threat model of every open source project on earth. Until that single fact is internalized by open source and blockchain teams, new attacks and vulnerabilities will be exploited every single day. Responsible teams should swiftly reorder their priorities around this reality. Now.

Alongside the vital work done by our engineering team, we very much appreciate the continuous surgical effort put in by the resourceful network of builders, validators, and community members, surfacing issues, proposing improvements, and sharpening the system as we prepare for what comes next.

All focus is on this 360° security review until the hardening phase concludes.
