Pouring one out for The Reverend Jesse Jackson. A giant and a champion for civil rights and equality.
But can anyone read Green Eggs and Ham better? No.
🏈Lincoln Riley says that USC isn't to blame for the cancellation of the Notre Dame rivalry.
📺@Brady_Quinn gives @TheJonasKnox and @LaVarArrington every reason why this is just a PR move by the Trojans and how they are the REAL reason why this rivalry got canceled.
my friend asked if i have any tips for finding hobbies as an adult
(of course I do!!!)
this is an underrated skill - finding hobbies that light you up makes life so much richer
tips:
> you will *not* find hobbies sitting on your couch so make sure that you are trying new things!!
> a hobby can be anything! hiking once a week, painting on weekends, tinkering with gadgets, trying new restaurants. there's no one definition - it's just about trying new things that light you up
> it's NEVER too late to find your hobbies btw but you must be intentional about making time for it - just as you would exercise or friendship
> try to remember what interested you as a kid and see if there's anything you might want to pick up again now. for me, its dance, photography, movement.
> then find these experiences in your area. you can look things up online or ask people who seem well-oriented in the city for recs
> my personal favorite is to find recurring communities - this way it requires less thinking from me to be consistent (6-week improv class, a 8-week kickball league, recurring yoga class, a pottery class, etc. (i've done all of these)
> some hobbies are $0 (hiking, walks, local events), some are one-time investment (painting supplies), some are recurring (classes) - pick which works for you
> you don't need to be "good" at a hobby for it to count. the point is ENJOYMENT, not mastery ok??
> remember nothing is permanent - this is low stakes! try it, switch it up, come back to it later, it's all good
> don't forget it might take a few tries to find what clicks - ideally you like the people AND the activity - be willing to try multiple things!
> may you make MANY new friends, learn new things, feel more joy, and start to form a fun life outside of work from all this :)
this is how you remember what brings you joy!!!
so pick something and try it this week!!!
you got this!!!
The Andy Pages catch will be the first play I'll always remember from this World Series. Let's look at some details:
-Bottom 9th, bases loaded, tie game. If a run scores the Series is over.
-Andy Pages was just subbed in as a defensive replacement (mid-inning) for his arm. What a spot!
-The play came in as a 60% catch probability. A three-star catch is very good as is, but can't possibly include how much more difficult this was to catch over your flailing teammate to save the season!
-Pages had to cover 121 feet on this play because they started so shallow. There were only SEVEN catches of three stars or better the entire regular season that covered more ground.
Mookie Betts’ double play to end the World Series had a 46.24% Championship Win Probability Added.
That makes it the single most impactful play that resulted in an out in MLB HISTORY 🤯
