The first duty of Government is to keep this country safe. With the threats facing Britain increasing, delaying a commitment to 3% of GDP on defence until another spending review simply isn't good enough.
This isn't a choice between supporting vulnerable people and defending the nation. Government has a duty to do both. However, our Armed Forces need certainty, our NATO allies need to know Britain will meet its commitments, and our adversaries need to know we have the capability and resolve to defend ourselves.

This Labour Government should commit to 3% by 2030 and set out how it will deliver it. @10DowningStreet
