And this holds across age cohorts, too.
Someone in the bottom third of income is 20 points more likely to have a tattoo compared to a similarly aged person who is in the top third of incomes.
The higher the income, the lower the likelihood of having a tattoo.
For folks who make less than $30K per year, 45% have at least one tattoo.
It's just 23% of those who make $100K+.
No, you don't get it.
He does not have $1 trillion sitting in cash, it is 99% stock in his companies.
To make that wealth liquid would mean selling all that stock which would swiftly destroy *both* the companies (Tesla, SpaceX, others) and the wealth. If he sold it all, he'd end up with maybe $100b max, several hundred thousand people would be out of work, the companies ruined and many of their suppliers also ruined.
Okay, but now Elon has $100b in cash, and can "solve the world's problems".
$100b divided by the world's 8 billion people is $12
If you were in charge, several of the most innovative industrial companies in the world would be destroyed, hundreds of thousands out of work, and space would again close to human civilization for another generation.
But everyone on earth could have one nice meal and you could revel in your altruism.
I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning:
I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages.
We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.
There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job.
I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.
I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction.
I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void.

Sir, I'm afraid math is not your strength. The net worth of America's billionaires is $5,600,000,000,000, the net present value of unfunded entitlement liabilities exceeds $100,000,000,000,000. If you stole all there money, rather than merely raising their taxes, you would solve a bit over 5% of your problem.
@twaddoups@CougConnect @4Wade2021 When they did use TEs, they weren’t Bowers. Could be more to the story. Watching the ones we did use drop passes, miss assignment and get tackled immediately was disappointing.
@TylerVesely@TravisSkol They would absolutely benefit from the stonger sos if they actually lost their games to the those teams. They lost to conference teams. Two of them bad.
@Roc23211@DrGigglegas @qb_country @geoff_bulkeley Those championships belong to nick saban. No one is sure about Alabama without Saban. They seem on par with every other decent team in the p4. Not sure at this point why they should get special consideration. They have some bad losses.
