@teachrobotslove@pannapacker I just retired from being a middle school librarian & I don't know a single student in these grades who has read or would read Gatsby. Not even top students. Maybe in decades past, but current maturity & reading levels are way down, unfortunately
@LynAldenContact@lilbernadette@BitPaine I'm gen X & have been a liberal user of em dashes in all forms of writing for years. I despise that this "AI tell" is forcing me to reconsider how I use them. There isn't another form of punctuation that can do what an em dash does, both visually & for sentence cadence π
@WritingRen Congratulations!! πππ
Long time since I've "seen" you -- hope all is well with writing & life! I haven't been writing for the past few years, for multiple reasons. Starting to feel like it's time again ππ
Seeing the cover of my book displayed in Times Square is just about as incredible as it gets.
...wow.
Thank you @GMA for making DROWNING your #gmabuzzpick !
@rebeccaromney I really, really like this take π I've been asking authors to "flat sign" for the sake of value, but I'm now going to be part of the movement that believes inscription is better -- by requesting it and paying for it on the secondary market
So delighted to open the most recent Vermont Country Store catalog and find, on the inside front page, this lovely tribute to the Weston, VT public library and a defense of the ongoing relevance of libraries. Thank you @VTStore π

Been a while since I've used this account. I have 2 others for 2 polar opposite niche interests
But this one is for all of me
Right now all of me is fragmented & worn out
Sitting on my deck watching the birds & squirrels & fat summer bugs bouncing off windows = good medicine
@EnchantmentLL Lately it's been puttering in my flower garden a little bit after work and running out on lunch breaks to snatch up larkspur seeds and dalia bulbs πΈπ
