On #ThisDayInHistory in 1993, a terrorist bomb exploded in a parking garage of the World Trade Center leaving a massive, multi-story crater and causing the collapse of several steel-reinforced concrete floors.
Six people were killed and more than 1,000 were injured. City authorities and the FBI undertook a massive manhunt for suspects, and within days several radical Islamic fundamentalists were arrested but the mastermind of the attacked remained at large until February 1995.
