@JenReadsRomance There is way so much hockey romance these days and it’s combined with pretty much every trope. I’m very meh about it. Tried to read a dark stalker hockey romance and I had to nope out 20% in because I couldn’t stop rollling my eyes.

@lizziethat And Jaime and then them making her choose was not consistent with their character growth and felt forced and out of place. What was the point of all that? They made it feel like R &K we’re building towards reconciliation and then throw in a tired and already done love triangle.

@lizziethat Yes! Thank you! It is entirely possible to choose yourself and be in a romantic relationship. Why do people think it’s only one or the other? And they way the writers threw in the love triangle angle at the last minute was sloppy and not well thought out. That scene between Roy

@lizziethat They kept talking about rom-communism and referencing rom-coms and then no romance payoff at the end (like you usually get with a rom-com). They built up expectations and toyed with the audience and then pulled the ball away at the last second like Lucy & Charlie Brown. Not cool.

@lizziethat Exactly! I wasn’t a Ted/Becca shipper but even I could see how they teased the audience last season and this season and then at the end. And they built up Roy/Keeley with real rom-com vibes and a redemption-type arc for Roy and then that weird Jaime/Roy fight and no payoff. And

@lizziethat @have1you_ever Yup! I was confused bcz I thought Jaime had agreed to respect R & K’s relationship and then he’s making a play for her in the back half of the last episode. And then they leave it all up in the air and ambiguous in that epilogue scene. Why? Felt like S4 is needed to resolve that.

@have1you_ever @lizziethat Yup, they made it a love triangle thing and did the dumb thing where the guys fight over her and try to make her choose. And they left that storyline unresolved and it was unsatisfying.

@melon_reads I didn’t ship them but I feel bad for the shippers because it seemed like the show toyed with them in the opening and when Rebecca showed up at the airport. Why mess with them like that? Seems a little mean.
