PlayStation in 2026:
- End Destiny
- End physical gaming forever
- End porting exclusives to PC
- Completely lose Hideo Kojima
- Attempt to cancel Kojima's next Metal Gear franchise
- Kojima cuts ties entirely and goes to XBOX
- Force your single-player studios to make live service games
- Concord happens
- Proceed to cancel most of them, losing years of development time and billions of dollars
- Buy Bluepoint and have them make a live-service rather than remakes
- Close Bluepoint down before they release any games
- Start selling vertical stands separately rather than have them come with the console
- Console prices at an all-time high
Genuinely... what is going on at Sony. disaster after disaster, huge L after L. They were my favorite gaming company throughout the PS4 generation but genuinely, how do you lose EVERYONE this fast? Meanwhile, XBOX is taking full advantage of this and priming a major comeback next generation. A literal generational fumble happening at Sony.
some guy came into my work just now, ripped our tiny pride flag from the register and snapped it in half and threw it at me and my team. started yelling about the american flag and charlie kirk. anyway, heres the name of his business that was on his truck if y’all are bored.

Good luck!
They took memory cards from us and made us pay for storage. They took CDs and DVDs and made us pay for streaming. They took software you could buy once and turned it into a monthly subscription. They took ownership, convenience, and basically everything that used to be a one-time purchase… then somehow made us pay for it every month.
🚨 SONY… THIS IS HOW YOU TURN ONE ANGRY CUSTOMER INTO A GLOBAL STORY
Here we go again.
A Sony Bravia customer in India had a warranty dispute over his TV. He left a one-star review, documented what happened, and created a website called “Sorry Bravia.”
Sony India’s response?
Their lawyers sent him a legal notice demanding that he remove the website, videos and posts, issue an unconditional apology within seven days, or potentially face civil and criminal action... including a claim for ₹5 crore, roughly half a million dollars.
And here’s the part that gets me.
The customer says he has been asking Sony a pretty basic question since July: show me the technical evidence that proves I damaged the television.
According to the case website, Sony still hasn’t provided a technical report or photograph showing the damage it says caused the warranty denial.
So instead of this being one customer complaining about one television, now Louis Rossmann has picked it up and put the entire thing in front of millions of people.
That is one heck of a way to handle customer relations.
Huge kudos to Louis Rossmann for digging into this one. Consumer complaints shouldn't automatically be treated as attacks simply because a company doesn't like what somebody has to say.
And before anyone says Sony has already sued him for $500,000 — not yet. This is a legal notice threatening action and ₹5 crore in damages if he doesn't comply. That's an important distinction.

FFVII FANS ARE PUSHING BACK.
A Reddit campaign is gaining traction asking Square Enix to put Final Fantasy VII Revelation on multiple discs instead of requiring a mandatory download for the physical version.
GOOD.
Remake did it.
Rebirth did it.
There’s still time to fix this.
Give physical buyers a COMPLETE physical copy.
RECAP/UPDATED: Sony PlayStation’s terrible leadership under Hiroki Totoki, Jim Ryan, Hermen Hulst and Nishino (non-chronologically) costed us a whole generation🚀
😅Raising console pricing
💿Trying to end physical game discs
🛍️Closing PS3/Vita stores
🕹️Ending second hand market
🎮Destroying game ownership
🎞️Removing 500 movies w/o refund
😱7 studios acquired since 2020
😡5 already shut down
⚡️Paid $4.7B to Bungie for nothing
❌Acquired Bluepoint and failed to let them produce a single game since the acquisition in 2021
❌Acquired Haven in 2022 and hasn’t provided any meaningful updates on Fairgame$
❌Acquired Firewalk Studios in 2023 and ended up with Concord aka. the greatest disaster in gaming and shut down the studio in 2024
❌Acquired Bungie for $3.6B ($4.7B in total) in 2023, which only led to layoffs and delaying Marathon due to plagiarism and a disappointing first reveal
❌Shutdown London Studio in 2024 am cancelled their yet to be revealed live service game
❌Shut down Neon Koi
❌Shut down Dark Outlaw as of March 2026, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier
❌So many layoffs at Bungie
In addition,
🗑️The Last of Us Online
🗑️Spider-Man: The Great Web Multiplayer
🗑️Bend Studio’s live service game
🗑️Bluepoint’ God of War live service
🗑️Jim Ryan had 12 live service games planned to be out by 2026, only Helldivers II was released and succeeded, the rest were all either cancelled before release or shut down shortly after like Concord
They ruined this entire generation and the hard work of thousands of talented people for nothing, and only talented studios paid the price for the egocentrism of the clueless execs.
And now they want to transfer that loss to players by:
✅Ending disc production
✅Creating a monopoly
✅Raising prices
✅Ending second hand market/trading
✅Eventually goading players into live service, and we know from XBOX how they eventually capped that monthly streaming hours and require you to pay more for extra time
Reports from Digital Foundry’s John Linneman and others stated that there’s resentment for Sony from the industry and various studios and publishers who spoke to him.
Those CEOs/Execs must leave
Reform Sony
Listen to players
Apologize
Keep video gaming physical
Protect ownership for physical and digital
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
Physical Media is exploding right now, and in my opinion the Panasonic DP‑UB450 is still the best way to get into the ownership of your content. It doesn't focus on streaming apps, thankfully. It just focuses on CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K Discs, and file playback via USB, and yes, the USB supports 24‑bit / 192 kHz high-res playback too. Along with that, it also offers Dolby Vision, which allows video to be scaled to the nits of your display.
Even with the price jumps because of demand, it's still worth it to own your media! In my opinion, we want real ownership because digital purchases can disappear the moment someone decides to take your rights away. And that's exactly what's happening right now, and why the demand is switching from digital to physical.
Remember, NO DISC, NO BUY! Nobody can take away your Physical Media Collection, but every day titles get removes from your digital purchases with zero refunds. Sorry, but that's not worth it. In my opinion, these digital companies don’t care about you, that’s why ownership matters.

Square Enix actually responded to my complaint about Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Would be awesome if they changed it, I won’t hold my breath but anything’s possible.
SAVE THE DISC 📀 SAVE VIDEOGAMES
Her name is Gina Martin. She was at a music festival in London when a man pushed his phone between her legs and took a photo under her skirt. She reported it to the police immediately.
They told her it wasn't a criminal offence. There was nothing they could do.
She went home and decided that was unacceptable. With no legal background, no political connections and no funding she launched a campaign to make upskirting a criminal offence in England and Wales. She petitioned. She lobbied MPs. She spoke publicly about what had happened to her. The government initially blocked the bill.
She kept going. The Voyeurism Act passed in January 2019. Upskirting now carries up to two years in prison. Scotland followed. Other countries are following. A woman at a festival with no lawyer, no funding and no political connections rewrote the law for an entire nation in eighteen months.
🚨 SONY, YOU SEE IT. WE KNOW YOU SEE IT. NOW WE TURN UP THE HEAT.
Gamers, if you're wondering whether all this noise is actually making a dent, take a look at the receipts.
The State of Play chat takeover didn't stay buried in a YouTube comment section. It became part of the story.
Forbes called Sony's State of Play “hijacked” by Destiny 3 and physical-disc demands. Kotaku reported that fans “showed up in force” and flooded both YouTube and Twitch. Polygon said the entire State of Play was “overshadowed” by angry PS5 fan demands. Giant Bomb covered Sony getting bombarded with the comments the very next morning.
And it didn't stop with the big U.S. outlets.👈
Canaltech in Brazil covered it. LEVEL UP covered it. GAMERGEN in France covered it. Xboxygen covered it. Tech4Gamers covered it. PlayStationInfo in Germany covered it. GameApps in Hong Kong covered it. Fanzade and Merlin'in Kazanı in Turkey covered it.
I can verify at least 13 different gaming/media outlets reporting on what happened. Check for yourself!
Think about that for a second.
Sony held a State of Play to get people talking about Sony's games…and a huge chunk of the media conversation coming out of that event became:
NO DISC, NO BUY.
WE WANT DESTINY 3.
Oh yeah, that is what making noise looks like.
And Sony, don't insult gamers by pretending you somehow don't see this.
Your leadership has already acknowledged that the community has strong views about the direction you're taking, "I'd say strong is an understatement." Now your livestream gets flooded. Your comment sections were flooded. Major gaming publications are writing stories about it. International outlets are picking it up. "@SONY, YOU HEAR ALL OF US NOW!"
You know damn well what's happening.
Silence doesn't mean the message isn't reaching Sony.
It means Sony isn't answering it. Or they are badly out of touch with the customers who have the $$$
So gamers this is absolutely NOT the time to back off.
Keep posting. Keep commenting. Keep tagging the gaming press. Tag your favorite creators. Keep #NoDiscNoBuy and #WeWantDestiny3 underneath PlayStation announcements where people can see them.
Be loud. Be persistent. Be respectful.
Because we just prooved that people outside our little corner of the internet are paying attention.
The message is out. Now we amplify it!
GAMERS TURN UP THE HEAT. 🔥
