This seems like a good time to remind you that a black student in Mississippi is 2.5X more likely to read proficiently by 4th grade than if he or she lived in California. We would be happy to send one of our reading coaches to assist you, @GavinNewsom. Learning is a lifelong journey, and you might achieve some of the gains that our black fourth graders have.

Rest in peace, Charlie. It was a privilege to call you a friend and to witness your unwavering faith and love for our country. As Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.’ (John 11:25) Your steadfast faith and patriotism will inspire Americans for generations to come. Candy and I send our heartfelt love and prayers to Erika and the children.
