We are honoured to be chosen by the staff of Boston Scientific in Cork as one of their top 3 chosen charities for 2020-2021!
We are so close to securing up to €40,000 through their fundraising intiative but will need the staff votes to succeed. #operationtellourstory@bostonsci
5 weeks has past since this announcement following parents cry for help in Cork.
No official applications or security of a place has being issued to these affected families.
Have the affected families not gone through enough ? Enough is enough.
We are looking for donations to help us floor and fit out the new Charity Shop for Jack & Friends Centre for Autism opening in the summer next door to the Centre. We are looking for donations to help us floor and fit out our new Charity Shop. https://t.co/1FKC9mtCVr #iDonate.ie
What a fantastic piece of creative art by one of our service users.
We encourage all children to express themselves fully with no judgement or pressure to conform to societies social expectations of "appropriate ".
Displayed proudly in the centre🥰

We have struggled financially the last year to the point of coming close to having to cease supports in a time where our families needed us more than ever. https://t.co/1FKC9mtCVr #iDonate.ie
@MichealMartinTD We welcome this news however Cara Junior Special School leavers next year and the years that follow will not have a secondary school placement unless it's feeder school Scoil Treist change policy to secure their entry. These schools are not 4-18years. Please look at this.

We are proud of our work done on our end to support families in desperate need of a school place this September. We are delighted the hard work has produced news of an additional Special School in Cork. We will continue to campaign for further secure measures.
I v much welcome announcement of a new special school in Cork. I look forward to examining details as they come out, but overall badly needed, long overdue!
Credit is due is due to those who have campaigned tirelessly, in particularly the parents, advocates and schools @BuildIrl
We are standing beside these parents. Jack is soon to leave his special school with no Secondary place in site. Claire Jack's Mother is pushing back at the system. Children like Jack and his Friends with a dual diagnosis of Autism and a learning disability are the forgotten.
As our emails are flooded with lots of support from TD's with promises of approach & meetings with Dept of Ed @NormaFoleyTD1 a solution has still not been signed off.
There are sites, options right here in Cork just waiting for ACTION.
Our parents are calling for " Less Talk"
Another week and another good news story for a mainstream secondary school development. This time in Bcollig with an enrollment of 40 first yr students.
Meanwhile not a peep about a placement for 23 ASD/ID kids in the same city. https://t.co/4DemXzLOxS
April is Autism Awareness Month.
It has being a year like no other. Our children who navigate the worlds obstacles daily were faced with the unimaginable; withdrawal of their already limited social interaction, structure and routine.
How it can feel and effect one's mental health in the face of unexpected and life limiting change ; the challenges the Autism community and families face each day.
This month we reflect on the new found awareness and acceptance.
