@WilliamDettloff I described the series to a mate as being like when you love a book and then they make a film of it. Most of your favourite bits are missing or certain parts make less sense because another bit that would explain it is missing.

@ElCholo1967 The last round of this fight was absolutely mental. Was Williams even conscious when the referee waved them back on? Was Shavers concussed for a month? Did the referee have money on ten completed rounds? 🤣
@BoxingHistory Is this series any good? There’s so much documentary footage of Ali, I don’t see the point of watching someone try (and generally fail) to play him. No negative vibes intended.
@BoxingHistory@b0xingfan@KnucklesNGloves@PunchZoneAris That’s fair enough. Had a lot of driving to do today so listened to the latest episode. Brilliant as always. Totally agree on your thoughts on the Tyson-Ruddock stoppage
@Tom_Gray_Boxing I was surprised to find out that this round, quite rightly considered the greatest 15th round, didn’t actually win round of the year in 1978. (Ring magazine)
That honour went to the 15th Round of Ali-Spinks. What a time to be a boxing fan that was!
@ElCholo1967 Really enjoyed this Martin. Spinks comes off really well in the studio, nice bloke.
Was also nice to see there was no ‘bad blood’ between Spinks and Tyson.
@ElCholo1967 I’m not suggesting for one second that the fight will be comparable, but I feel that this same scenario is applicable to the Fury/AJ fight.
@TheBoxingWriter@WilliamDettloff I think the idea is to distract from the fight and fighters. Focus on that, it becomes obvious how much each has diminished + how past its sell by date the fight is.
Or, this shows how unimportant the fights and fighters are to them, compared to appearing to have all the power
