Congratulations to @oliviachow on her historic victory as mayor of Toronto We have been privileged @arts_tmu@fcssociety_ca to have students learn about voice, Justice , political action and leadership from Olivia for the past ten years
I stood before the Senate to address the commemorable efforts of the community hero, Eddie Carvery from Africville, Nova Scotia. It is time we amplify the voices of those who have been unheard for far too long, and ensure that justice prevails. #EddieCarvery#Africville
City of Barrie bylaw, if passed today, would fine people for giving food, water or shelter materials to homeless people in city parks. I had to read this multiple times, what the hell?

I am so proud of my partner @NotishaMassaqu1. She is a rockstar community leader, professor, and advocate for women’s health. But she is also an amazing partner and mom!

“Do you represent us as injured workers? Do you represent our families who hurt when we are hurting?
So today, we’re sending a message that we’re not going to back down. It’s about respect for injured workers.”
- Andria Babbington @torontolabour President, #InjuredWorkersDay
Toronto’s non-profits punch above their weight. They do so much for us.
As your Mayor, I’ll improve and increase core funding so that non-profits can focus on their vital work, instead of spending all their time chasing grants.
