I hate the argument that officiating is the reason Americans aren’t watching soccer because literally every popular sport in the US has arguably worse officiating issues.
“Why hasn’t soccer taken off more in America?” As a casual fan, I present to you exhibit A. Balogun has been intentionally held, kicked, fouled harder than this the entire game. Then this no intent, accidental contact foul draws red. Stupid sport can’t get out of its own way.
It’s funny cause all the fans here for the World Cup say they don’t actually like the sport of baseball but still have more fun at a baseball game than literally anyone.
When the Yankees are a top team, people don’t punch down and take shots at the Mets the way Knicks people have recently with the Nets because Yankees fans truly do not care about the Mets. Knicks fans/media taking shots at the Nets just proves that they’re still insecure losers.
Adam Silver on Donald Trump coming to game 3
“What makes sports so special, especially when there’s so much that divides people, is it’s something that we have in common. We should look for those things we have in common and build off that.”
Christianity is so funny bc any religion that takes itself seriously would find it insulting to put the Word of God on a piece of cardboard meant to be covered in slop and thrown in the trash
Since FIFA said they'd be in touch about making this official, I just gotta say that I really couldn't think of anyone better to represent the World Cup than the guy who's spent the last three years promoting and learning the world's cultures and breaking stereotypes around them
Obama isn’t a felon.
Obama isn’t a sexual predator.
Obama isn’t was never impeached.
Obama was never arrested.
Obama didn’t lie to his followers about an election that led to the storming of the capitol.
Obama had 1 scandal, a tan suit.
Obama was a popular vote winner 2X
Abdul Carter says he will only address Jaxson Dart introducing Donald Trump one time:
"Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things.
Jaxson is one of our leaders - he's the face of our franchise. He represents himself and what he does, and he represents all of us.
If he chooses to align himself with a man like President Trump, it's my responsibility based on what I believe and what I stand on to not only show my teammates that I'm against that, but to show the world.
That doesn't mean that we have to spread hate. That doesn't mean that me and Jaxson hate each other or we have beef. I sit next to Jaxson every day - we're close, we talk.
As long as we make sure we have the same goal as a team, and our goals align - which they do -that's all that matter.
I just want to move past this."
Reason why this is the discourse around Shai and not around Luka, Kobe, MJ etc. is because Shai’s game is not interesting or have any entertaining value. He scores 30 with 10 midrange and 10 FTs. He’s not DISTRACTING people with jaw dropping plays so the focus is flopping.
