🚨 Liverpool make contact with RB Leipzig as Yan Diomande pursuit steps up. #LFC currently in strongest position on player side if 19yo winger moves - #RBLeipzig determined not to sell. #PSG interest remains firm but less advanced at present @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/dt64tbgGNo
Really exciting appointment but so much to be done with that squad. Imperative they get it right. At least one defender, two attackers and probably a midfielder required. Give him the players and think he’ll be a great Liverpool manager.
Exclusive: Andoni Iraola is scheduled to travel to Merseyside tomorrow morning to put the finishing touches to his move to Liverpool, including putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
🚨 Liverpool reach verbal agreement with Andoni Iraola to become head coach. Set to sign 2yr contract (same as #AFCB deals) & wants Pablo de la Torre, Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper, Tom Webber on staff. #LFC plan to present 43yo by end of week @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/uYB8DBzOWR
I think this idea that #lfc missed out on Xabi Alonso because they sacked Slot too late is wide of the mark. He’s a great coach and a Liverpool legend, but if you want aggressive, fast-paced, up-and-at-em football, he’s not your guy. Iraola much closer to Klopp’s “vollgas” style
🚨🚨 EXCLUSIVE: ARNE SLOT AND LIVERPOOL TO PART WAYS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. 💣
It’s over between the Dutch manager and Liverpool after end of the season review. 👋🏼
Andoni Iraola, clear favorite to take over as next #LFC head coach.

🚨 Yan Diomande a leading target for Liverpool. #PSG also among suitors but #LFC firm contenders; strong position with 19yo RB Leipzig winger & if player deal looks doable club-to-club talks will follow. #RBLeipzig would seek €100m+ to sell @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/Hk4wKLh3oA
𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙁𝙀𝙍 𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎: Liverpool have been tracking Bradley Barcola for many months, and they are now stepping up their efforts to sign him. The player is becoming increasingly tempted by the move.
Liverpool are more determined than ever to complete a deal. PSG are open to discussions should the player indicate he wants to leave, reports @AlexisBernard10 🇫🇷🔴
@A___bhardwaj You’re not wrong. And that’s the issue with the squad. That’s on those off the pitch. But right now I’d rather play Rio, Frimpong or Szoboszlai RW instead of him. Or in this more central role he’s playing right now, Gakpo (or Isak once fit).
Very sad it’s ending this way but the chances he’s missing are costing the team game after game and it’s simply not good enough.
If LFC are to stick with this system then Isak should come in for him once fit, but would also rather Ngumoha in the team instead of him right now.
Absolutely love Mohamed Salah and everything he’s done for LFC but he simply has to come out the team for his own sake. He’s so far below the level right now it’s getting embarrassing for him. Absolutely criminal that he’s still taking pens ahead of Szoboszlai.
There’s the Rio start and Ekitike rest, and Salah can have no complaints about starting on the bench after recent performances. Gomez in for Konate an interesting one. Ibou didn’t have a great night on Tuesday.
Sounds like he definitely starts at least one of the upcoming games. Spurs or Brighton probably make most sense with possibility of extra-time vs Galatasaray.
Could see him starting Sunday with Mac Allister dropped and Szoboszlai alongside Gravenberch.
Slot on Ngumoha: "Rio is a player who could start for us. He's been coming in for longer spells. He's definitely an option to start one of the three games in the coming week."
@stevehfairman Yeah, certainly wouldn’t mind someone like Anderson to come in and free him up a bit. Szoboszlai is fantastic but I still have questions as to what the team looks like with him, Wirtz, 2 wingers, and a striker all in the same XI.
Massive this. Szoboszlai, Mac Allister and Jones also due new contracts but I always had Gravenberch down as the most important of the four. Such a classy midfielder and still so young.
Correct. That result is almost all on the attackers. Got into good areas on plenty of occasions and didn’t have the quality to make it count. Hopefully Isak hits the ground running when he’s back.
🚨 Arne Slot:
“How do I sum us up? Same old story. Recently we are picking up points from scoring from set pieces but what did not change in the past 5-6-7 games is we struggle and find it very hard to score from open play chances we do create."
