@DjokovicFan_ Difference being that Federer and Nadal had been there and done it all before. They didn’t rely on their biggest competition to be sidelined in order for them to achieve something big for the first time.
@Fergus_Gav I voted for Kartal but then realised it was probably just recency bias. If healthy Raducanu is far and away the best player of the three but she’s never healthy 🤷♂️
@TheTennisPanda@turkmavisi@_goatripley They could have faced each other in the 4th round back then due to their ranking. And Sabalenka was leading the H2H at the time too (and still does btw)
@TheTennisPanda Only one of those players was ranked in the top 5 themselves during all of their grand slam runs - Sabelanka. Meaning fewer opportunities to face fellow top 5 players compared to a non-top 5 player. You’ve asterisked Sabalenka’s USO 2024 for example despite beating the number 6.
@TheTennisTalker They get to use their PRs for 2 slams so they were always going to use it for the US Open regardless of whether they used one at Wimbledon.
Kyrgios admitted to using recreational drugs years ago, it’s surprising it’s taken this long for him to actually fail a test.
A fitting end to a unique career.
