Former @RFERL journalist Reza Valizadeh remains wrongfully detained in Iran. He managed to share a new message, featured on @CBSEveningNews, highlighting the brutal conditions of his captivity. #FreeReza@freerezav
SCOOP: A confidential new CIA analysis delivered to policymakers this week concludes that Iran can survive the U.S. naval blockade for at least 3 to 4 months before facing more severe economic hardship, a finding that contradicts those hailing an imminent collapse
Authoritarian nationalism in Hungary has just been defeated. And Orban, in a rare act of grace, appears to have accepted it. Bad day for Putin. Not a good day for MAGA. Good for the US, Ukraine, Europe, & the free world.
The US Agency for Global Media, which is run by Kari Lake, has just failed an audit. The organization's finances are too chaotic even to assess.

Thank you @JenGriffinFNC … @RadioFarda_ exists to provide accurate information to people inside Iran, desperate for trustworthy reporting.
We report in Farsi - telling the stories of the Iranian people - and holding the Iranian regime accountable.

Radio Free Europe provides independent reporting to many countries where media freedom is threatened.
We‘ll work with partners including 🇨🇿 🇦🇹 🇧🇪 🇱🇹 🇱🇻 🇪🇪 🇩🇪 🇳🇱 🇸🇪 🇸🇮 to support @RFERL‘s award winning journalism.
The world needs media freedom.
VOA has made a significant impact on the world since World War II and continued to do so until this past Saturday.
I’ve already told you how, during the Chornobyl nuclear disaster in 1986, many Ukrainians first learned about it through VOA radio broadcasts from the U.S. The Russian-Soviet government never informed its people that they were slowly dying from radiation exposure.
But even more recently, I’ve been receiving messages from Ukrainians living under Russian occupation in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. They reached out to tell me they were watching every VOA show. For them, it was a glimpse of freedom and hope for future liberation.
To do so, they have to use fake names on social media and remain as discreet as possible because if the Russians found out they were listening to VOA, these people under occupation could pay with their lives.
I once received an electric shock during torture only for writing for Radio Liberty: I was told that it was "a CIA structure and an enemy of Russia", and for that reason alone I was already guilty.
Now, the "enemy of Russia" is being destroyed by America itself, and my torture seems doubly in vain.
Here is a strong Washpost editorial explaining why Trump’s shutdown of Radio Free Europe, Voice of America and other U.S. broadcasters is a gift to the world’s dictators. (It’s also illegal and unconstitutional.) https://t.co/GUOQgZg8Jw
Today I, like virtually every other full-time employee at VOA, was placed on administrative leave indefinitely. I'm not allowed to report the news to our hundreds of millions of viewers at this time. Let's hope this is temporary. A silencing of VOA will be celebrated by communists, autocrats and ayatollahs whose lies we shed light on. What a mission I've been lucky enough to embark on--a mission to grow American influence around the world, not by sharing slanted American propaganda, but by giving them the TRUTH! Why? Because America has the truth on its side.
VOA, too, has the truth in its corner. Don't let me or anyone else tell you what to think about VOA. I encourage all of my friends to go to https://t.co/OO2IDDRobD and read as much there as you can. It's been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to serve my country and follow my passion as a journalist. As we say at VOA, a free press matters.
To all of the service members and civilians who have trusted me with their stories during my 16 years at VOA and nearly 11 years as our Pentagon correspondent, I owe you a big "thank you" for putting your trust in me.
Let's hope that this isn't my last report as a VOA journalist. https://t.co/HdO68jqohN
Today, @RFERL was informed that the federal grant agreement funding our global operations has been terminated.
The cancellation of @RFERL's grant agreement would be a gift to America's enemies. Read our full release.

Today HRF joined several human rights organizations urging @POTUS to impose #Magnitsky sanctions on those involved in the arbitrary detention of Russian activist, Vladimir Kara-Murza @vkaramurza.
Read the letter here: https://t.co/xEdYWPx2Fe
“The ongoing imprisonment of Russian opposition politician @vkaramurza, which we assess is based on fabricated and politically-motivated charges, suggests that he could be a victim of a gross violation of his internationally recognized human rights,” https://t.co/feKUqECBjQ
