This is 'Charmion' - a 19th century female Trapeze Artist who disguised political acts of rebellion as provocative circus acts. Some would have sexualised her. Others would have celebrated her clear & courageous acts of resistance. I'm very proud to write about Charmion πͺπ»ππ»πͺ

@JacksondeDomene I remember your poster well from last year π Really important work! I definitely wouldn't say it's a crazy dream either - keep aiming high! π
Almost one year ago! π€― I so hope that one day I can poster present research that I've lead in wellbeing and the aerial arts π₯³ Maybe that's not too crazy of a dream? π«£π€π₯Ή
We are very proud of Laura, one of our BSc Sport & Exercise Psychology students for presenting her poster at @BPS_DSEP. Laura was really inspired by the other presenters at the conference too!
Something about animals&nature really puts life into perspective.They don't care about your work, inbox or being busy.All they ask for is our whole, undivided attention to be present & meaningful.Crazy that sometimes that feels too big of an ask, when all this is hereβ¨#GoOutside
"Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is, and we were young."
A E. Houseman (Worcestershire, 1919)
Remembering also the women, the animals, the families that took in evacuees, the veterans who were forever changed by what they experienced, the families that lost loved ones and friends and those who continue to battle with both the physical and psychological damages of war. β₯οΈ
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again; Though lovers be lost love shall not;

10 years ago I started my aerial arts journey. 9 years ago I started teaching. 7 years ago I had a question. 2 years ago I started my degree. Today, with my ethics application approved, I formally start the journey to answer that question. Happy Lauraπ₯Ή Wish me luck! πͺπ§ β¨

Happy National Inclusion Week π Let's celebrate the diversity in dance!
Our Community and Inclusion Manager, Tamar Dixon, has written a blog post about the importance of inclusion, and what we as a sector can do to encourage and implement inclusivity π https://t.co/tiw7wrVFu4
Today I turned 28 YEARS OLD. Which means 12 YEARS AGO I was on Educating Yorkshire. Over the years, teachers have helped me to push forward in all things I doubted myself I could achieve. Teachers gave me more than an education - they gave me a future. I will forever be grateful.
Recruitment is open for my final PhD study and we are looking for both dance teachers and students to participate in the research.
This study is part of a larger collaborative project between the @unibirmingham and @onedanceuk investigating self-harm in private dance education.
