@DougHenwood@fredstaffordcs@Matthuber78 that by organizing around demands for data center development you can actually generate funds for the cool things you mentioned, funds that wouldnt be there otherwise?
@DougHenwood@fredstaffordcs@Matthuber78 isnt the arguments that basically no where is there a community faced with the question: "data center or this other cool thing?" but rather "data center or nothing" and further
@Matthuber78@mcbyrne no doubt what you said is true, and i actually do have confidence that the commission itself wont be a debacle, but i wish he had framed it in some of the "public excellence" language he has used before, rather than sort of cribbing the DOGE language on "efficiency."
@Matthuber78@mcbyrne i think you know im super predisposed to liking zohran and like pro government action, but i do think even winking at DOGE is in poor taste. it was a disaster at all levels and inflicted huge harm. why be associated w it at all? was upset when an al dem proposed a similar thing
its just so funny to unironically accuse democrats of racial identity idol worship and in the same breath whine about being "uncharitably" told he is on the wrong side of history for supporting redistricting that dilutes black political power.
Look as a former Amazon worker who fought for a union in Alabama, both of these things are true: you don’t have to be a stan for AOC or think that she’s above criticism or not of the left you may be right idk; it is also true that Chris Smalls is a fraud…
when men didnt bathe, they were subject to sanctions by the committee. intoxication could get you kicked out of the plant, and a small instance of property destruction was condemned as "disgusting" during a strike meeting
Rising disorder makes achieving the kind of social reform that could reverse today’s obscene inequality much harder. And left-wing ambivalence about antisocial behavior only worsens the problem.

We gradually transitioned from a democratic welfare state to full-on race communism between the 1960s and today for two reasons:
1. The beneficiaries of our race laws went from 10 percent of the population to a majority in places like NYC and soon a majority nationally.
2. We bent a lot of rules to give black Americans a one-time boost thinking they’d catch up. That didn’t happen, so now the choice is either go back to colorblindness and the rule of law anyway even though it means unequal outcomes, or let the government keep meddling more and more in the name of racial equity.
Yes, Markwayne Mullin is the only Senator without a Bachelor's Degree because at age 20, he took over his father's plumbing company when he became ill and built it into a multi-million dollar business.
Having a college degree doesn't automatically make you a smart or successful person.
1.Internal emails from Liberty University Law School, obtained by Popular Information, reveal how the Trump admin hires interns.
Students were informed about "exciting" legal internships at Labor Department.
“You MUST be aligned politically with President Trump… GPA is not a strong factor.”
Charlie was opposed to a regime-change war with Iran, as was I. Wars by their nature are expensive and unpredictable. They endanger American lives and can last far, far longer than anyone anticipates.
Nevertheless, President Trump has elected for regime change in Iran. As an American patriot I must hope for the best. Trump’s instinct is to avoid prolonged fighting and boots on the ground. We must simply trust that he has a strategy that will prevent both.
Ideally, this will be our last MidEast War: Toppling the Islamic Republic would remove the last large hostile power in the region and let America finally disengage and focus its efforts elsewhere. If the President can deliver that, this will be a success for America.
But he must be prepared to make that case forcefully. Trump/Vance ran on a peace platform, and it was popular. Right now some of my right-leaning friends are messaging me:
“F*** this.”
“This is extremely depressing.”
“Never voting in a national election again.”
If this war is a swift, easy, and decisive victory, most of them will get over it. But if the war is anything else, there will be a lot of anger. The American people were not given a strong explanation of why this was necessary. But success can override bad explanations. So we must pray for success.
One reason why consultants and pundits want to make Taylor Rehmet's victory solely about Trump. It is because he won his campaign without needing to raise an absurd amount of money, not relying on the donor class or fattening the wallets of those who get rich from campaign spoils
NLRB judge issued a decision yesterday in which he concluded that a Starbucks manager who was testifying for the company was not credible because he spoke in "corporate speak" including calling a dirty store a "cleanliness opportunity." 😂
