@RichmanSchool I totally agree with everything you said. I also believe social workers make so many connections not just in group, but also with organizations and communities.
A large section of the class focused on different ways social workers are involved within communities. In ways like trying to solve a social issue, encouraging a person to become more involved and much more. #SOWK35021
@brigettesowk350 I also learned a lot about conflict coaching. I feel like learning about this subject will only be useful when being a social worker. #SOWK35021
@gina_pisano I found the Census Bureau extremely interesting and learned a lot as well. I also compared Motown to my hometown, looking at things like poverty levels, education and more. #SOWK35021
One thing I found interesting and also learned this week was about the Census Bureau. While using the website I began to learned things about my hometown's population like race, age, economic status. #SOWK35021
The Amazon Rain Forest has already lost 17% of its land due to human activity and climate change. More focus should be placed on the future of the rainforest before its too late. #SOWK35021 https://t.co/w9Xh5h79zC
My ideal community would be largely filled with woods but I would also love to live near the water. Everyone in the community would be welcoming and friendly. I also wish my community was eco friendly. #SOWK35021
I grew up living in Fairfax, VA which is pretty close to DC. I could describe my neighborhood as family friendly, safe, and competitive. While I did have a nice childhood I don't plan on ever living there again. #SOWK35021
@HaleyButcher15 I think more spotlight should placed on elderly abuse. There are so many issues happening in retirement homes that are simply brushed under the rug.
@SocialWorkShea Mental illness should get more attention nationwide. With 800,000 people committing suicide yearly why isnβt there more attention being brought about depression and other mental illnesses? #SOWK35021
@HaleyButcher15 Thatβs a ridiculous amount of people without insurance. Many might blame those people for not having anything but donβt take into consideration the amount of children included in that number who had no choice in the matter #SOWK35021
