By giving retailers the option to open on Family Day and Victoria Day, we are supporting employees and businesses while giving families more choice and convenience to shop at their local retail stores.
These changes will give many employees the flexibility to agree to pick up extra shifts at increased pay, while maintaining their right to take the day off.
“Behind every strong family is a mother whose love never quits.”

As part of the plan to protect Ontario consumers and families, our government is proposing amendments to the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 to combat overpriced ticket resale practices.
If passed, the changes would make it illegal for tickets to concerts, cultural, sports, and other live events in Ontario to be resold for more than their original all‑in purchase price—helping protect fans from exploitative, professional resellers and ensuring more Ontarians have the opportunity to attend live events across the province.
