@adamseconomics@ABSStats All the people on here saying ndis is causing it better hope that theory holds up when looking at countries without ndis.
When you get ndis funding it is not free money to spend at the shops. It’s to see doctors and other professionals, and other support.
Some facts to blow the minds of anti-immigration people:
1. It is conservative think tanks that have historically lobbied for more immigration
2. Howard and Morrison governments are the main times when the rules have been changed to increase immigration
@RestoreAussies Do not believe IPA, they exaggerate and distort.
Don’t forget it is conservative think tanks that have been the ones in the past calling for more immigration. And it is the Howard and Morrison governments that changed the rules to significantly increase immigration.
@RestoreAussies The economy is growing at 2.6% AFTER TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE INFLATION RATE. So it actually grew at approx 6-7%. From 1970-1990 inflation was at times over 10%. 3.8% is low.
@matt_barrie@BikoKonstantin1 Economies go in cycles. Get used to it. Currency debasement mainly affects people who have wealth, little intention to be productive, and want to collect rent.
@BenPhillips_ANU What’s really interesting is WHY are we targeting 1.2m homes? Are we hoping to reduce prices? Other factors could do that far more easily! In 2 years when the census shows that people per household has stayed constant, how will we claim there isn’t enough homes then?
Remember the Coalition’s dud “super for housing” policy?
I thought they’d left it where it belonged - dead and buried in the 2025 election defeat.
Turns out, I was wrong.
So petrol has gone up 50-60c a litre. That’s bare-faced highway robbery. Any petrol in Australian service station tanks right now is pre-war, bought and refined at pre-war prices .The oil companies are blatantly price gouging, ripping us off.
