@HWT_PE Yes, DSL. With a full time DDSL and teaching DDSLs.
It's been a bonkers week. Love it but it's a whole lot of a whole lot.
I teach 8 hours a week (but everything is offsite as we have no facilities and it's always the last 2 periods on the day, so never onsote in afternoons)
First full week as a DSL (and Head of PE, Head of House and PSHE Resource Creator)...
A thread through my lense.
1. Spinning plates with suspected ADHD is not fun.
This morning, I opened my laptop to yesterdays incomplete tasks. 34 tabs open on window 1, 21 tabs open on window
5. Tracking and Monitoring: CPOMS, Excel, Secure Folders, Bromcom, PowerBi..
Who's ready to take education by storm and build the mother of all platforms that every school is crying out for?! Happy to be Director of Something but don't expect me to be the brains..
4. CPOMS - possibly the devil in disguise.
It's great for having everything in one place. But damn, it's clunky ugly, terrible to navigate. Spending more time finding what I'm looking for that adding the action or note needed.
New bookmark folder just for pupils profiles made ๐
So today it was announced that I have been given the opportunity of an SLT Secondment with the Role of DSL.
Getting the chance to experience senior leadership is so exciting and a goal I've been chasing for the last 2 years. However, Safeguarding Leads.. you are different!๐ซถ๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
@chloefowlerr Where ever you go, ensure the physio has rehashed ACL before. Seen way to many players not rehab properly and suffer re-tear or do the ACL due to imbalances. Best of luck
@chloefowlerr I ended up having three surgeries. I'm 2 years out from injury and still not running. I feel your pain, but stay positive and stay consistent with your programmes. It does get better! Happy to support however I can. Just reach out.
@chloefowlerr I'm working with ACLAcademy. After poor support available through NHS and even privately. Give them a follow on insta and explore if may be suited for you.
Belonging at work really matters. Employees with a strong sense of belonging outperform others on almost every metric, from engagement & retention to performance & wellbeing. Good leadership supports belonging: People with an effective manager are 6X more likely to feel this sense of belonging. Six ways to gauge belonging at work based on research:
1) Overall sense of belonging: I feel a strong sense of belonging at my organisation
2) Welcomed: I feel warmly welcomed at in my organisation (first day, new team, new role)
3) Known: I feel known as an individual at work
4) Included: I feel included at work (can be myself, my opinions are valued, can respectfully disagree)
5) Supported: I am supported at work in achieving my personal & professional development goals
6) Connected: I feel a strong connection with peers and colleagues

Setbacks of my ACL injury and the demands of my job have derailed tomorrow's target of 60% quad symmetry. Running in January seems impossible. The mental struggle is grinding me down. It's hard when a smile hides the turmoil. #InjuryStruggles#NoBlance#EduPE
Really insightful day.
Today I did my first visit as a governor. APs really do not get the kudos they deserve. So many moving parts to be accounted for; a forever revolving door of admissions, some of the must vulnerable young people and all the same pressures as mainstream ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
Absolutely shattered. But I have not enjoyed my job like I am right now in a long time. 2 week half term and looking forward to Aut 2.
When you love what you do, you never work a day in you life!
