PAKISTAN: Journalist and poet Ahmad Farhad has been held in administrative detention under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance for over two months, since 20 June, in Bagh, Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

🚨 He is currently on a hunger strike in protest against his unlawful detention. He was shifted to a hospital on 22 August after his health deteriorated significantly.

Ahmad Farhad is among several journalists and human rights defenders being targeted for speaking up about the human rights violations in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

The refusal to send Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital and set up a 3 doctors committe to examine him ( including Dr Faisal, the personal doctor of Imran Khan ), despite the clear order of the Pakistan Supreme Court, means that the Pakistan Establishment will not obey the orders of the judiciary where it disagrees with such orders.
Had I been the CJP, in these circumstances, I would have closed down all courts in Pakistan until the Establishment gave a firm assurance that in future it will obey the orders of the courts
