#Ajatshatru, also known as #Konik (or Kunika) was one of the most powerful rulers of ancient Magadha whose reign extended from 405 – 373 BCE. He was one of the most important kings of the Haryanka dynasty and was the son of King Shrenik Bimbisar.  

He occupies a complex and deeply significant place in Jain literature. Jain texts portray him not merely as a political conqueror, but as a tragic and morally conflicted personality — a king torn between ambition, violence, repentance, devotion, and destiny. His life is described in texts such as the Uvavai , Bhagavati Sutra, Avashyaka Churni, and other Jain canonical works.
