It is easy to criticise a politician for not acknowledging Capt. Smit. Try fighting an election from a prized seat with a demography that your advisers have said would not tolerate praise for a pilot who saved Israelis, who are collectively convicted in the court of 'public' opinion.

I believe that hailing an Indian hero would be welcomed by all. That all includes all Indians. Believing that Muslims will not receive it well is anti-Muslim bigotry, the bigotry of low expectations.

2016 में भी यह समस्या हुई थी, और आज उस से विकट है। पर सरकार फिर भी नहीं जगने वाली क्योंकि उन्हें ट्रेन से लाए जल की आवश्यकता नहीं है।

बीड़ जिले में पहले से जल की समस्या है, पर वहाँ गन्ना खेती 1.88 लाख हेक्टेयर से बढ़कर 3 लाख हेक्टेयर तक पहुँच गई है। महाराष्ट्र में 4% गन्ना कृषि, 70% भूजल का दोहन करती है ताकि गन्ना उपजाया जा सके। क्षेत्रफल 10 वर्षों में 1.5 गुणा बढ़ चुका है।

नीति निर्धारकों को एक उद्योग में नेताओं के मिलों की सुरक्षा भी करनी है और दूसरी तरफ़ 'मेरा दलीत, मेरा वंचीत' का ढोंग भी रचना है। सस्टेनेबल डेवलपमेंट का भी झुनझुना बजाना है। हो &^ कुछ नहीं रहा।

A doctor asked female medical students to wear aprons in the labour room instead of burqas at Government Medical College, Doda, Jammu & Kashmir.

They protested. They chanted Allahu Akbar and Nara-e-Takbir. Now the doctor faces an inquiry.

Read that again.

This is a government medical college. A labour room. A place that demands hygiene, identification, and professional uniform — not religious costume as a substitute for clinical dress.

Patients in labour do not get a vote on whose faith comes first. Staff must be identifiable. Sterile protocol is not optional.

The students say the burqa is their “pride and identity” and that asking them to wear an apron is an attack on Islam. That is the claim. The demand that followed was an apology and suspension of Gynaecology Head Dr Madhu Chib.

During the protest, police personnel reportedly questioned the students over slogans such as “Allahu Akbar” and “Nara-e-Takbir,” reportedly reminding them that the hospital is a medical institution and not an Islamic institution.

Yet the institution’s first official move was an inquiry against the doctor who enforced a dress standard.

Ask the real questions:

Why should a labour room bend to religious clothing over standard medical uniform?

Why are religious war cries treated as legitimate protest language inside a hospital campus?

Why is the person upholding protocol under investigation, while those mixing faith slogans with clinical space are framed as victims?

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.

He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.

I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.

He is a true hero.
