“High schools need to have a sports medicine professional, such as an athletic trainer, accessible during practice & competition to guide the identification, management and return to play process” after a #concussion https://t.co/dKaKGGFSjC
#Concussion recovery is an active process, not a passive one. Patients must work to get better, not wait to get better. As a sports neurologist, I tell my patients that exercise will aid recovery. But if symptoms return during exercise, dial it back and try again the next day.
